been on ebay etc but can't find any derestricted CDI units for my 1994 dt i want to sort it, pipe, silencer, cdi, re-jet and possibly even supermoto wheels if i gte bored of gettin muddy. ha ha ha just wondered if there is somewhere i will find one or should i give up looking. cheers if u can help me. shamus

Found this in the shed of a house I moved into. The landlord said I could have it. Gotta id the bike so I can start sourcing up parts for it to bring it back to life. It'll be quite a change from my R6.

Hi Ive just bought a 1990 dt125r, i have replaced the wiring loom as it had been cut up by the previous owener. I know have a spark,cleaned the carb,when i kick it over it occasionaly tries to start, has anyone any ideas why it wont start? any help appreciated.

After spending all night with very little info and only a partial wiring diagram off the internet, I too am having electrical troubles with my lighting on a dt100/ the diagrams show that the dt175 and the dt100 have the same wiring. After highlighting the diagrams and tracing the wires on the bike, I have come to the same conclusion that the headlight and the running lights in the speedomitor and the high beam indicator light all work of of the magneto with AC electricity. While the tail light, horn, neutral light and flasher system along with the stop lights are on a 6v dc system. Both systems interface with the diode rectifier. Hello My bikes MOT is due next month, its a '98 DTR and when i first got it i removed the indicators and mirrors (Thought i would remove them rather than them getting smashed off whilst offroading ). What are the rules when it comes to the MOT, i don't think the mirrors matter but on the indicator front, obviously the switch is still there as are the indicator lights on the dials, will it fail as a result? I have been told i need to remove the switch and paint/tape over the indicator warning lights on the dials for it to pass....is this correct??? Any help/advise/sites to visit for info would be appreciated Cheers

Ive had my bike for about 3 years now and ridden it on the road for nearly 1 year and I was wondering if it should only have 5 gears? Everywhere I read about DT's people say they have a 6 speed gear box and all the 01 spec sheets I find online say it should have 6. I am the 3rd owner of the bike and when I bought it had only done about 1500 miles does anyone know if or why it would have a 5 speed box?

Hi all, i have a 2001 TDM 850 and would like to ask that when i pushed the start button i get a loud bang from the exhaust and the engine did not start at this morning. After several seconds i attempted to start again and it started immediately and all was normal after that. In the past couple of weeks the same situation had happened three times after not using the bike for 3 or 4 days. Can anyone has an idea why this occurs? Thanks in advance.

Hi Im needing some help guys, Ive had a yz250 for years, used it for the first few then(when i was younger any silly) took the carb apart and couldnt get it back together again.. the bike has lay in the garage for at least 7 years now, well ive decided to get it fixed up and sorted over the winter, it needs a fair bit doing but first off im unsure of its year.. I cant seem to find a plate on the frame with any numbers on, I have however found a few numbers stamped on the engine.. 56A 246cm3 y-1 Anyone got any idea which year this could be from? Im needing to get some new plastics and the carb sorted so really need to know the year... Thanks …

Hi my names Ben and im 17 i own a Yamaha DT125R, 07plate and i was wondering how to fill up the reserve tank, if there even is a reserve tank iv checked the manual and yet im still boggled as to how it works, if any has any suggestions on this quetsion then im open to all valid answers. I have just tried to change the front brake pads on my 05 plate DT125X and have hit a problem. It has a brembo 2 piston calliper which I believe is standard fitment on the 'X'. Each pad has a hole on one end and a rod passes through this which connects to the calliper. There is a small clip holding this rod which I removed, yet I cant get the rod out of the calliper, which is preventing me from changing the pads. Does anybody know how to get this rod out of the way? There is no screwdriver head or socket head on either end of the rod. I have a horrible feeling that the previous owner has sheared a bolt head. Hello all, I'm new to this forum. I purchased a 1976 dt125 with only 4600 miles and in excellent condition. I enjoy driving it around town. I get a lot of compliments and it's much cooler than a scooter. Is there anything I can do to get a little more power out of the engine? Top speed is currently 55mph if I'm not driving into the wind. With the wind in my face I have to down shift to maintain 40mph.

Whats the words of wisdom on welding a petrol tank? I've drained it and left it with the top off overnight and think that this should be ok - anyone tried this before?? what did you do? cheers boys

hello most of you might be aware iv just got a honda hornet 600 and today was my first day out on it restricted after having a really good day i stopped at a service station when i came back i found i had snapped my key ( i no its a honda and im asking for help on a yamaha forum) after a hour of fiddling and fettling the broken half of the key into the igntion i managed to get it started thank god or it would have been a really really long walk! do i have to replace the barrel now? rough cost? or is there any alternatives? any help would be much appreciated

hi guys when i switch the ignition on and then press the electric start button it just clicks i have stripped it down and found it is clicking from the coil what does this mean please help

Trying to find a metal number plate for my XT600 , anyone know where I can get one ? Fitted a lazer exhaust and its melted my plate ! Most Metal ones I have seen are for Custom bikes ?
