Lo folks im Gunny First post here,i will introduce myself in your new members area shortly. Im about to put down my deposit on a brand new FZ1N(non abs) I was going to buy a 2006 one but then i read all the negative comments about the fuel cut problem. i believe this was cured from 2008 model onwards, but im just a bit short of cash to buy a 2008 right out. So im getting £900 off the price of the brand new one and im getting it delivered for free up to scotland and of course im still getting 0% apr. I`ve went over the pros and cons for days but all my friends say its a no brainer at this deal and to just get it. ANYWAY has anyone on here got the 2009 bik…

Hi All Its time to look into replacing the brake pads on the bike , they have done over 25k and one of the fronts is looking low . Bike used daily for commute . Anybody used EBC HH brake pads on anything? I am last of the late brakers which is due to owning hot Minis for years and blasting them around the lanes and track days. Thought I would go for the HH rather than the normal basic pad . EBC have given me the following part numbers : Front standard pad FA199 Rear standard pad FA140 Front sintered pad FA199HH Rear sintered pad FA140HH 2 sets of front HH pads and a set of rear HH just under £64 all in with vat and delivery , not bad I though…

Hello Everyone, I am considering the purchase of a 2009 Stratoliner S. Does anyone have a comment on this model good or bad? Secondly, I have always owned shaft drive bikes. What is your opinion of a belt drive machine? Thanks for your input! RustyYou may e-mail your comments to me. Please list Stratoliner in the subject line.

Is there any way to raise or lower the engine's idle speed on a 2009 XJ6 diversion? Currently it idles at 1000rpm but I feel it could do with raising by about 100-200rpm. There doesn't appear to be an manual idle adjustment screw that I can find on the l/h side of the engine, so is it permanently set by the ECU? Cheers for any info.

Going to France in the summer and need to get a spare bulb kit. Anyone have a list of the bulbs the XJ6 takes? Seen some on ebay for various Yamaha models but not the XJ6, although they all seem to include pretty much the same bulbs (H1, H4, H7 and indicator, stop/tail bulb and fuses) in the kit. Will one of these do? I don't even know if my bike has HID / xenon lamps (assuming it doesn't). And is the tail light LED? Google isn't helping me much at all! Really should get to know my bike a bit better...

Would like to raise my bars an inch to improve my comfort on the bike a little. Anyone know what risers I need and where I can get some? Also, what's the deal with the cables - will they be long enough as they are or will I have to have them done too? Thanks in advance

Some thieves tried to steal my bike the other night and in the process broke my steering lock (although my disc locks stopped them making off with it). Now I'm just after a guide or some info on how i can remove or replace it since the steering is snagging up now when i turn lock to lock which is obviously not ideal. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The Italian Yamaha Sterilgarda World Superbike team, with riders James Toseland and Cal Crutchlow, unveiled its new livery for the 2010 season today at the team’s headquarters in Castiglione delle Stiviere to a host of journalists and sponsors. While slight styling differences make an appearance, such as the rider’s numbers largely displayed on either side faring, a white front fender and updated logo placement, the big news comes in the form of the added performance gains they announced from its '10 Yamaha R1Superbikes. The press release states they found an additional eight peak horsepower, lost 6.6-lbs and updated the radiator shape for increased cooling capacity…

Hi I havent indroduced myself properly yet I am just starting out on my fist bike a 2010 yamaha ybr 125. I got it in July and have been looking around this site since around then. The bike is great fun to ride round the lanes on the way to collage and work and i'm really enjoying it however I don't find the stock headlight bulb very good, it has been better since the 600 mile service however still not very good. I have looked around at a few sites which all seem to recomend 12v 60/55w H4 bulbs to go in the bike ( http://www.bikebulbs.com/view_products.php?bike_link_make_id=22&bike_link_model_id=7641&model_lamp_code=H4) however this is for the 07 model which i…

Hey there. I was in the showroom today and noticed the new 2010 YBR125. Sexy beast! I was just wondering if anyone has an idea of where to get the gauge cluster (Speedometer/Tachometer/Fuel/Indicator lights etc etc..) Looks SO much better than the 2009 model's cluster. Even if you know a place which do custom gauges for cheap would be greatly helpful. Link: http://www.yamaha-motor.co.uk/Images/2010-yamaha-YBR125_LGM3_detail_005_tcm46-326259.jpg Cheers Tom

Hi, I have just bought some oxford heated grips for my 2020 (new shape)Tracer 700. There is no dedicated grip wiring as per the previous model that I could find, it only has the auxiliary connections for USB and Aux power outlet and these are only protected via the same 3A fuse. As the grips are rated up to 4A I was going to use the heated seat wiring to power them, but it appears they have deleted this too. Anyone know if there is a suitable switched power supply that I could use instead, as I don't really want to power them direct to the battery as per the instructions. Thanks.

I am a newbie to sportbikes but picked up a 2000 yzf600 for 2500$. the bike is tight, starts and runs great and rides out good. no major cosmetic damage other than usual wear for a 2000 model. it has 30,000 miles on it though. i am wondering what the average mileage on others out there are. the bike has new tires, chain and sprokets and a fresh service. seems like it was well taken care of. i want to take a road trip to deals gap on this bike (about 450 miles one way for me). the bike is sounds except for the miles. would it be a good idea to take the trip on this bike?
