Hi, I am just wanting some advice on buying my 1st motorcycle. I live in Australia and here we are restricted to ride a bike with a 250cc or less while on a learners permit, which I haven't gone for yet. Anyway I have been looking around online, alot on ebay. I have found many Virago 250 for a good price. Below $2000. And this is a good price for me at the moment. However, all i can find is that they are a comfortable and relatively easy bike to ride and learn on. There is also the option of getting a road/trail, but have not ever been keen on them The other information that I have found is that alot of women ride these. Or alot of women are selling them to upgrad…

I had a problem yesterday with My brother's 2004 Vstar 1100. No motion!! He would let out the clutch, the driveshaft would spin, but no wheel movement!! When we took it apart we found that the part they called "clutch hub" which has a gear in the middle of it that meshes with the rear differentil. He ordered the hub, my question is did another problem cause this to happen?? By changing this hub will he be fixing the problem or treating a symptom?? Like I said it's a 2004 but he rides allot, he has about 41000 miles on it!! Any input would be appreciated!! Thanx DOC

Hello My wife and I have a set of 2006 vtar ll00's. I would like to get a set of pipes but unsure what would fit well and sound deep not so much loud. I also rode a friend of mine's 750 honda aero 2004 model. I loved the handle bars on that bike and was wondering if there is a set of bars out there that are not as wide as the stock bars and would come back some. My arms feel like they are extended to far right now. Thanks for any help you can give. My email is [email protected]

Hi, I'm a new owner of a 2004 V Star 650. The bike has about 150 miles on it and i have noticed that at 55 mph no matter how much throttle i give it it just won't go any faster. I have tried this in 4th and 5th gear and it is exactly the same. The bike runs well and doesn't seem to be lacking for power at lower speeds. Is there some sort of factory speed limiter or something that could be causing this? Thanks in advance for the info.

Bikeless of Sunbury seeks recently loved RD350, for constant petting and an occasional thrashing...must be ready to rock 'n roll and ideally unblemished by cosmetic surgery.. I want a cared for RD 350 F2 or maybe YPVS for fun, as original as possible. An Ariel Arrow with a Bonneville's power output in a 300lb bike should be interesting enough for me, and its nice and dirty to offend Blair heads and my mate who thinks 500cc single cyliders were cool - Nah. ............ before I move on to a Fazer or Hornet. So what is the best way to be in line for the nice ones that do become available? Oh, and not getting stiffed by a bad 'un? Advice on avoiding dieing too …

Hi, I am intending to do a bit of touring next summer, heading down south of France, Carcassonne region, have a wee house there just of the D118 heading out of Limoux. Okay enough of the bull. Current bike is a 06 model Fazer abs, I am thinking of replacing it as I think running around from Northwest England to south of France a few times a year might be a bit hard on a 600 motor, Obvously I like the Yamaha brand , any ideas as to what would make a good replacement bearing in mind I am looking for something fully faired, topbox and panniers. I spotted a beauty 05 plated FZ1 fully faired but was put off as I was told these have problems with the fuel injection system.…

Hi all just registered... I have had my Thuncercat for about 8 years now, its a super bike that just runs and runs without much care given to it at all! I am now worrying everytime i go for a long journey about the odd ticking or the weird twitch or whatever charactoristic it has on that day.... So the options are: 1. go to the darkside and get a 05\06 plate err other model.... OR 2. uprate the CAT! I know where its been, afterwards it'd be like a new bike, be a lot cheaper for custom parts that i may well change on a new bike anyway! Heres the thinking: Overhaul the engine to include gasflow, shims, tappets, new diaphrams etc Source some aftermarket USD f…

Has anyone fitted the R&G "tail-tidy" http://www.rg-racing.com/RGProducts/productgallery.aspx?page=1&sku=LP0079BK To a recent Yamaha XJ6 Diversion and still have all the original parts for the Yamaha supplied hugger, licence plate bracket etc. etc? I need to refit the original parts to my XJ6 since the pannier brackets and the position of the R&G bracket cause the sling-over panniers to obscure the rear indicator lights. The original parts will "push out" the indicators from the rear of the bike so they become visible beyond the panniers. If I can refit the original I will then have an R&G tail tidy to sell. :-) Regards, Clive Long

I have finished rebuilding my carbs and found a lot of nasty metal flakes, so I started cleaning out the tank after I finished the carbs. After a good pressure washing (right before I was going to use a kreem 3 stage acid solution and epoxy) I noticed a small pinhole sized hole in the bottom of my tank... I was going to get it welded and call it good, but the whole bottom seems to be just about rusted through completely so I am here looking for a tank. If the tank you have to offer for sale is only mildly dirty/rusty, I don't mind because I still have my tank cleaning solutions that I can use on a tank that does not have a hole in it. Thank you, Danny (If I broke…
