Hey folks, just bought a 1996 xj600 diversion today with 46,000 miles on clock. Is this high mileage for this type of engine and how many miles can I expect to get out of it if serviced regularly? I've owned 3 Yamaha Viragos, two 535's and a 750cc and found them to be great bikes, very reliable and am hoping the 600 will be every bit as good. There's no centre stand on the bike and was wondering if one can be fitted? Also, as I am vertically challenged is it possible to lower the suspension on the xj6? Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Cheers Tony

I gotsta have me one ! A mate of mine owns a chinny take away and whilst talking to him tonite, a noisey, smelly single cylinder 2 stroke pulls up outside. Thinking it was a nasty effort of a scooter or something I was pleasantly suprised !! I'd love to stick some images up but got no uploader yet - sorry - but anyhow, the damn thing is a 47cc single and it's about 2 ft high, sporting Dunlop slicks and looking pretty mean. I got takling to the guy and it turns out there's a whole gang of them in town but got no place to ride them legally - instantly made me wonder how he got to the shop ??? at night ??? with no lights ??? and skid lid ???? and no reg... but the t…

Hi there, Can you help me? I have a new YZF - R6 2009 supersports. As much as I love the bike the view from the mirrors is not what it could be. Has anyone been able to extend the mirrors (or change them?) for the bike? I have heard rumours that the R1 mirrors are longer stemed, and can be swapped over? Is this true?... I have searched the web, but there is near enough no info on this topic. Let here your thoughts!! Thanks Jamie

Hi folks, My first post on these forums. I recently bought a YBR 125 to ride while I'm on L-plates and hopefully to get me through the A2 test this summer! Enjoy riding the bike but the only issue I have is that with me being a wide git, I find it hard to position the mirrors in any way that'll give me a view of the road behind me. I tend to end up looking at the inside of my elbows. Has anyone managed to put different mirrors or mirror stalks (is that what they're called) onto a YBR? Any advice on how to go about doing this? It is my first bike and I've never tried doing any mods to it! Cheers, Simon

I bought a '04 R6? over a month ago, and it didn't have the CDI.To get it running, I need to ID what I have, to see if another bike that has been offered to me will be a good parts donor.I have both VINs, but don't know which digits denote the specific model ID I'm looking for ...to clarify, the bike I bought is missing everything. It's a roller with the motor, intake, airbox, and electrical harness(minus CDI). The other bike is a '03 R6 (says so on the bodywork) but has been hit in the front. For the record, mine has clear title, the '03 bike is "Bill of sale" for parts only.I'd like to use it to get mine running , before I decide what next step to take with it...my Yammy de…

I have seen a lot of bikes advertised (mostly on ebay), and I am sure that they are advertising the incorrect model years. My understanding is that the tail on 06+ bikes is very tapered. for example...Here is my bike that I got 2 days ago. It is a 2006. And here is one (on ebay), which is advertised as a 2007 model. I could easily give many more examples of bikes listed as 06 or 07 models which are clearly not. How can this be?

Hi all . Other than the pics found in google images is anybody aware of images of modified XJ6n's ? There is a blue and white one that i believe is in Fiat sponsor GP colours and the stunt concept bike with its garish colours and crash bars , other than that its all exhausts and well , nothing really to inspire me to do anything similar with mine . Yes, got some ideas, had a look at other models of bike but it is always worth a look at what others have done to the model of bike you own . Basically.......mine is cloudy white, done over 32k , got cleaned of the winter muck by a valeter who told me he was using suitable solvents and promptly power washed off all …

Hey, not too sure about this, just want to improve the general look without messing too much. Would this fit on the bike, 2011 Yamaha R125 YZF https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Aluminium-alloy-280mm-Motorcycles-Kickstand-Kick-Side-Stand-Motorcycle-Scooter-Street-Standard-For-Land-Rover-BWS/32613374813.html?spm=2114.01010108.3.178.BJw3MR&ws_ab_test=searchweb201556_8,searchweb201602_3_10057_10056_10065_10055_10054_10069_10059_10033_10058_10017_10071_10070_10060_10061_10052_10062_10053_10050_10051,searchweb201603_7&btsid=df8ee694-4fbb-4b79-b4a9-824b258ca7c1 Also, what about these, just cheap sliders but they look cool as hell. https://www.aliexpress…

Hello again, Following on from my last post about zorst, rearsets and the paint job I've had done. I take a pillion almost every time I go out, who likes the grabrail that I had fitted. Unfortunately although the said rail is very practical (Renntec) it is a bit unsightly and I don't want to put it back on my newly painted baby (YZF) Would a small trick rail from another bike fit, even though I know that I'll have to extend the subframe somehow. Any one with experience of this or good ideas please help as it's doing my head in. Rob.........

Soo i hear a lot of things. i was wondering if there was an actual study on the amount of fatal motorcycle crashes, and the cause of it. well actually i'ts mostly from ppl who show off and do stunts on the street right? well i was even more wondering if there was a comparison of % of fatal bike accidents where it wasn't the biker's fault compared to the % of fatal car crashes. But i wanted some of the factors removed from this statistic, such as stupid people who show off on public roads (which would more than likely lower the percent greatly). I heard most young street bike drivers die within the first 6 months from inexperience and over doing it, and most of all …
