Hi Guys, I've been looking at these 2 bikes as a possible first bike when I pass my DAS......you think it's a good sensible choice as a first bike? Anyway, I was thinking maybe I could ride one of these for a year or so and then trade it in for an R6. I need some help in deciding whether the naked FZ6 is better or the Fazer 600? They both look cool in it's own way but I just can't decide which one I should consider? :? Which one whould you go for?

Hi. Posted for a friend: I've got an 05 plate FZ6, which earlier this year I took in to the dealer for the recall to fix the Throttle Position Sensor. Apparently a fault in some machines meant the engine could just cut out with no warning, not something I'd ever experienced before taking it in for the recall work. A week or so ago as I pull away from a roundabout on to a dual carriageway the engine went dead just as I was hitting speed, drifted on to the grass at the side of the road, waited a bit then got going again. Put it down to a fuel blockage or overheating or something (I am not mechanically minded). Roll on to the M40 this morning on my way to work and what …

Howdy, I'm a bit new to bikes and such. I had a dirtbike as a kid ( can't remember it though ) Now I'm older and looking into street bike for riding to work and such. Taking a MSF Course eventually ( later this year ) to familiarize myself some with a bike. I was curious how the US FZ6 is for a beginner and comfort of this bike. Planning on keeping this for a while. My bike choices ( In my price range ) are Yamaha FZ6 and a Kawasaki Ninja 650R. Both are nice looking bikes. now to get some feed back from people who have ridden them. Thanks for any information you can provide. Andy

I am just trying to get peoples views of the FZ6 S2. Im going to be buying one sometime this year, and it will be restricted to 33bhp. At the moment got a Honda Varadero 125, but had that nearly 2 years now and time to move on. I have looked around a great deal, but is the FZ6 S2 which I like the most. Any views on it be great, cheers NearOn

Hi to all! This is my first post and I need your help.. I'm interested for the "Side Cowling Panel Kit" combined with roller protectors, and the official Yamaha site notes: "Currently cannot be combined with the FZ6 Roller Protectors" Yamaha UK site But in the photo of the accessory there are roller protectors attached, so can you please tell me if anyone has actually got the new roller protectors? or someone could find the code for them? The current roller protector kit will not fit with the fairing kit due to the mounting points being covered. The picture is from the original Yamaha site, so I guess there are not aftermarket, eg r&g, puig, or some…

Finally got around to checking the alignment tonight (cos its still pissing down here), I've been meaning to check it for a while but I've had the cruiser up on the platform while I serviced it. Anyhow, when Id strung up both sides of the rear wheel, though the frame, and measured how much it was out at the front, I couldn't believe my eyes. I double checked my lining up again, same result. It was as if the front and rear wheels were in different planes. The object of the lesson is, don't pay any attention to the markings on the swing arm for setting up wheel alignment, they can only be considered as a rough guide. Ill take it out tomorrow to see if it handles any differe…

Hi, I was hoping someone here could help. I'm looking for replacement downpipes for a Yamaha FZ600 88 model. I'm having no look finding any at breakers or on fleebay. Does anyone know of a company that stock replacements? Or failing that is there another make/model that can be converted for use with a 1988 model? Or as a last resort does anyone know of a metal shop that can fabricate some. Cost is of course a concern. I am toying with buying a secondhand bike and stripping it for parts but I begrudge taking apart a working bike for the sake of a couple of parts. surely it can't be impossible to get hold of an exhaust system even if the bike is 21 years old. …

Recently acquired an '87 FZ600 from a friend after the engine went on him and he upgraded rather than rebuild it. I'd like to get the bike running again, but I've got a feeling the internal damage may make repair of the existing engine prohibative (no solid evidence yet, haven't started diagnostics). In preparation for the worst, though, I'm trying to find out what options I have for replacement of the existing engine... particularly if anything other than the 86-88 FZ engine will bolt in, or can be made to bolt in without excessive hassle (Radian? XJ? FZR with some work?). Also looking for any sites or other forums that would help support an FZ600. Any info/hel…

Hello all, I have a 1987 FZ600 that was in perfect condition. I was deployed overseas last year and while I was away it was parked in my parents garage. My dad accidentally knocked it over while trying to move it around in the garage. It just has a small crack in the fairing however, this year when I went to get it ready for the spring season here no headlights work at all. All of the other lights on the motorcycle work except the two headlights. Any ideas on where to start looking. Any relays? I checked all the fuses I could find and they look good. I find it hard to believe that both lights would be dead at the same time however, maybe they are but, they don'…

Hi there, I'm new to the site. So a big hi from here in the rainy UK. I have an fz600 s2 abs 2013 model. I'm very fortunate to be getting a full, complete exhaust system free of charge designed and fitted by delkevic exhausts here in the UK. This includes new headers all the way to the end cans. But, I am also thinking of adding a k&n air filter too. But is there anything else I need to consider re tuning to ensure the bike runs well? Cheers

Hello, i need some advise, the motorcycle fz6n has been "stored" in a garage for about 7 months w/o doing anything to it. 3 days ago i started it, i washed it and it had no problems at that moment. In the last 3 days, sometimes it had some start issues(starting from 2nd, 3rd time) and i felt that at idle rpm when i wanted to move it a bit by being in the friction zone it started to be unstable and even with a bit of power it stopped. Today i tried to start it and in the video you can hear that it doesn't start, after 4th try i heared gunshot-like sound from the engine P. S. In these 3 days i did like 2miles.
