Hello, I was hoping someone may know exactly what to do to correctly convert a califonia smog model FZ 750 into the easier breathing 49 state model. I live in the southeastern United States and stumbled upon a mint 1986 FZ 750 locally. The seller moved here a number of years ago from a military base in California where here purchased this bike new in 1986. This thing is TOTALLY stock...including all the emissions garbage. I once owned a 1985 FZ 750 for over 12 years and loved it but have lived with regret everyday for selling it. I have a 2017 FZ-07 with a little work done to it performance wise but i am looking to go full fairing. Ive seen all the debates on the R6 vs R1 but i want more opinions based on my experience. Ive been riding dirtbikes my whole life and just last year bought an fz but it doesnt seem like enough. It isnt crazy torquey to me and apparently neither is the R6. For example ive had it to 120 on the hwy even with the shaking and i can do standups in 12 oclock in 1st 2nd or 3rd gear. My buddy has a 2012 CBR1000RR and i love the way it rides and he tells me just to get an R6 but ive ridden the liter bikes and i dont know why but i like the violent minimal throttle movements. Hey all , Just wondering if anyone has any advice or experience in changing the handle bars on their FZ1. I'm 6 ft 6 and struggle abit with the riding position almost too low down so I'm arched over quite alot, which after a hour or so becomes very uncomfortable. Hi all, I've just bought a second hand FZ1N from one of my local dealers, at what seemed like a very good price of £4,600. It's on 07 plate, with 10K on the clock. A new pair of tyres, and looks in overall good nick. However, there's no service history with it, and when I got it home and looked at the log book, the (only) previous owner was one of these insurance type companies that give you a loaner while your bike is getting repaired following an accident. My first thought was it was going to go straight back, but then I started thinking about it. Just got my new FZ1 and I am well pleased with it. I want a few mods to start with 1) Aftermarket exhaust (considering a Yoshi but I will take on all advice) 2) Tail tidy 3) Is there a gel seat available ? these things have the hardest seat of anything I have ever ridden ! If anyone has suggestions for the above I would be grateful. Keith

As a newbie to this site i have a question on the FZ1 Fazer. I have recently roadtested one and found that if i could bring the bars up slightly it would be just right for me. has anyone fitted risers and where is the best place to get them from. This would be my sixth yamaha over a number of years but the first time I have gone in this style so raising the bars slightly would help me finalise my decision. Regards John

Really looking for a quick solution here people. I'm going to the British GP this weekend and i'm taking the missus pillion, so i need a luggage rack to stick the tailpack & tent on. Phoned Renntec, and they say they couldnt manufacture one for the FZ1 Fazer, but they have done for the FZ1. Now apart from the grab rails, how do the tail of these bikes differ? Looked a Givi topboxes as well just to get the rack, but they require me to butcher the underside plastics, and i aint having that. Anybody fitted anything that is just a bolt on job? Might need to borrow the father-in-laws FJR at this rate

Hello there! This is my first post on here and I've just left a deposit on a shiny new FZ1 Fazer after having a fantastic couple of demo rides on it. One quandry that I'm in at the moment though is, as I use the bike for commuting I was thinking of getting the Yamaha side panniers with the bike, but as I don't want to take these all the time, does anyone have any pictures of what the bike looks like with just the frame fitted, but without the panniers attached? The reason I am asking is I wouldn't want to take them off and leave the bike looking a complete mess and (rather unsurprisingly) I can't find any pictures on the net of the frame only. Hi all, Ive recently bought my FZ1abs and am after a fly screen to hopefully give me a bit of protection from the windblast. Ive seen a Puig screen on other FZ1s but cant seem to find them on line anywhere, hope some of you can help me out or let me know of a good alternative-my neck can only take so muh!!!!!!!!!!!

Has anyone found a tank bag that fits the FZ1N? Properly? I can't seem to find any off-the-shelf ones that fits around the plastic protuberance that is half the tank!

When I change my ex-can what do you do with the power valve. Do you just disconnect the 2 cables and leave them in place.

Hi all, Iv had my bike since sep last year and the past week its been loosing loads of power and getting worse everytime I ride it! Iv checked the air filter and changed the spark plugs and put some nice Shell V-power fuel in it with an injector cleaner and it has not helped at all I was thinking its the fuel pump? The bike idles fine but when you ride and give it full throttle it just dies untill you go back to half throttle Anyone got any ideas? Anything I can check before I take it to the shop? I need it sorted as i miss it and the good weather shold be kicking off soon with any luck

Could someone give me info for what type of D.I.D chain I will need for a FZ1-N 08'? Also, I am looking to purchase a renthal rear sprocket, can anyone advise on what type I need, No of teeth etc? Model numbers for both get you a blue peter badge.. Cheers

Hi My fz1-n on an 07 plate has cut out on me a couple of times, this happens when the bike is moving and in gear, when i pull over and restart the engine starts and runs perfectly. this used to happen to my r6, i was told by yamaha that i needed a new throttle position sensor switch which they did for me but the r6 still kept cutting out. any ideas.....
