I bought a 1997 YZF600R a few months ago. It still has the stock exhaust on it. I am sick of it sounding like a pissed off sewing macheine. Does any one have a good suggestion for an exhaust? Something loud and deep if possible. Thanks

Hi folks, looking for some ideas on what the problem might be with my thundercat. The problem is intermittent and shows itself several ways, or perhaps there is more than one problem. Firstly after a steady cruise at 80mph on the motorway, when I come off the motorway the engine seems to stutter and give less output. Also there is a situation when idling that the revs seem to go up about 1000rpm and then sometimes settles again, this happens with the throttle fully closed. Looking forward to hearing peoples theories. Cheers

What's the normal water temperature for this bike? After a hard run and cruising around town (Air Temp 20C) the bikes cooking my legs and is running at 108 C. It's a 2003 with only 3000 Klm, on it and has developed a noise in the engine. The dealer thought it was a clutch noise, so they replaced one plate. Noise still there, so they decided to replace the complete clutch. Picked it up yesterday and the bloody noise is still there. Now I'm really pissed, because the dealer wrench wizards will be pulling the engine apart, starting Monday. I thought these motors were bullet proof? Any thoughts from anyone.

I'm thinking about making an exhaust hanger to replace the rear footpegs and tidy up the back end, I'll get a profile laser cut and bend it, similar to this one below, if a few other people are after one I can get them done in a batch and make them cheaper than these. If it's just me I'll mill a profile myself and make a one off as it'll be cheaper. If anyone else is thinking about getting one give me a shout and I'll get a price for a bulk order and see if we can't bring the price down. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Yamaha-YZF750-exhaust-hanger-bracket-YZF-750-pillion-/260749818978?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts&hash=item3cb5e67c62

Hi, Been offered the chance of some spacers to lift the rear ride height of the standard shock, read somewhere in the Performance Bikes' set up guide that this would improve the handling. Has anyone done this and what height would you suggest adding? Cheers

Hi folks…I’m hoping for someone’s help here. I’m in the middle of attempting to adapt the YZF750’s front forks and triple tree to fit on my 1986 FZX700 Fazer, and I’ve run into a problem. Here it is: Although the triple tree’s center shaft is the same diameter as the Fazer’s (meaning the steering head bearings won’t have to be changed), the shaft is approximately 1 inch too short to accommodate the bolts that tighten back onto it after it goes through the steering head of the frame and the bearings placed in. So my next attempt was to take the YZF triple tree into a machine shop and have them attempt to press out the center shaft from it so that we could then pr…

I recently bought a 96 yzf750. it only has 9k miles on it, and after cleaning the carbs it runs and idles well, but the tach keeps going up to 7k on its own...like a code or something. Anyone know what that means? Also, I have to dump the clutch around 4-5k in order to take off, otherwise it just sputters at like 1.5k rpms and then dies when i stop giving it gas. Im assuming thats the exup acting up? When i first turn on the bike, should i be able to hear or see the exup do anything? thank you for your guys time.

Hi all! Just picked-up an N-reg YZF750R, looking forward to using her properly... however, one niggle... the front brakes have no 'feel', no 'bite'... they work, but I don't like how they feel. The bike has had recent brakes front and rear (the rear feels fine, it's the front brakes I'm not happy with) and was MOT'd with no advisories just before I picked her up. I reckon it's the pads that have been used (no idea what make they are), maybe they just need bedded in... anyway, could anyone advise if this is 'normal' on YZF's? Or what make / type of front pads would be a good choice to get bite and feel? One member suggested bleeding the brakes (I asked this question …
