Hello all, Does anyone have any experience with soft panniers (or hard) for my YBR 125? Price and where to order (I live in France, but often order on the net). A major concern is protecting the soft tissue from the hot pipe. I have seen instructions for crafting an aluminium support on a Honda Varadero 125 forum which seemed to work well in that regard. Any advice would be very much appreciated, and thank you. Douglas

Hi, new to the forum after recently buying a new YBR 125 and was wondering if anyone knew of a stockist - preferably online that would stock parts for the imported version ( the one with the small fairing over the headlights and indicators ). The reason i'm asking is my bike recently got blown off its centre stand in my driveway and now has a neat little hole through the screen on the fairing - I managed to find a stockist for the complete fairing but I'd rather not pay for the whole fairing when i only need the bolt-on screen. Any Help would be appreciated.

Hi, This is possibly a silly question; should the bolts for the rear sprocket (attaching the sprocket to what in the manual is called the 'clutch hub') be tight? My problem is that in order to make the edges of the retaining plate flush against the bolt, some were left slightly loose. I have been checking them periodically and they have not moved, but will this cause an issue in the future? The manual states the torque should be 2.6kgf/m (if I can dig out a torque wrench I will test this) but if the bolts are not flush with the retaining plate but tight is this not also an issue? Any advice appreciated. (ideally I would like the sprocket bolts to stay in place and no…

Just got myself a ybr125, i'm new to biking, got my cbt at the end of the week! I was wondering if anyone knows anything about screens or handguards for it? I'm starting to ride in November - maybe not the cleverest thing ever - and I'm not too keen on getting battered by the english elements! any suggestions? Cheers

Hey guys. Was washing the bike yesterday, and noticed that my Throttle cable linkage thingy (The place where the cable links up to the fuel valve - I think) has snapped. I've temporarily fixed it with some cable ties, but I would very much prefer to repair it as soon as I can. Here's a picture for those who have no clue what I'm on about Any idea what it's called, and where I can get a replacement from? (Preferably in the UK) Thanks Tom

I am trying to find out what is the largest size of box I can safely/comfortably fit on the back of my 2007 YBR 125. Ideally I would like to get one big enough to take 2 helmets if possible, it also needs to be easily removable so I can fit the bike into the back of my motorhome garage.

Hi all. I have a ybr125 of 2007, and have been riding for almost 3 months on a daily basis, commuting to work, etc... I try to avoid riding in rain, but using it daily means you get caught sometimes, and usually the roads are skiddy in the morning because of the dew. I still have the stock tyres on the bike, and was reading on the net that changing to some better brand will make a heck of a difference. So i just have a couple of questions I'de really appreciate if you could pop your suggestions. 1. Any particular brand known to be suitable for this bike. I was thinking Bridgestone. 2. the rear tyre is 90/90 18, while the fron is 2.75-18. Could it be possible to wid…

hi i have resently started riding a ybr 125 it is 09 model so its fuel injected not carb, but most pages i look at talk about the bike being able to get to around 70mph i know that might just be talk, or there goin "down hill with the wind behind them" lol but on mine im strugling to get past 55mph ish gets there fine but after that its like it gets to about 9000 revs then then wont let it go any higher than that. Like its restricted but it can rev till red line in all the other gears. just wondering if there is some other kind of restriction. if theres not and the bike just carnt get any faster then thats fine but i dont really want to be spending loads just to get i…

Hi all, just wondering if the extra wind resistance caused by a screen is gonna be too much for my little bike to push through or if it will improve things for MPG and comfort? i have a 25 mile each way commute, mainly along a dual carriageway on the coast and it gets pretty windy sometimes i'm thinking about getting a universal screen like the Airblade Tall boy anyone had experience of one of these on a 125?? thanks Rob

Hi everyone, I've already started this thread once but it seems to have disappeared into the ether! I've just bought a 2009 YBR 250. Does anyone else out there have one and can anyone answer me the following: 1. Is it restrticted in any way and, if so, can it be derestricted? 2. Is it an 'export' model or are they sold through the usual dealerships? 3. I found a photo on the net of a 2011 YRB that was clalled a 'Fazer'. Is it part of the Fazer family? 4. What is the spares situation? 5. Any weaknesses in the model? Can anyone cast any light on what seems to me the dog's as far as a 250 is concerned. Can't believe a bike like this isn't flying out of the sh…

Hi, I bought a Yamaha ybr 250 at the begining of November 2012! Albeit second hand I bought it from a dealer, the salesman says the original owner bought it from them, rode it for 6 months and then parked it in the garage for 2 years due to having a stroke, it had a full service history at that same dealer and eventually returned to the dealer because he realised he would never be able to ride it again, it only had 1200 on the clock, I was assured by the salesman it would be a good commuter, it would be reliable and they know the bike. Well after 3 months the throttle body has gone and this is a £700 part to replace. According to the consumer act the dealer must replac…

Hi, I've got a 2010 ybr 125, done around 800 miles on it now commuting, utility and some just riding for fun and loving every minute. just wondering a couple of things really. I've been ok with servicing and I've done an extra oil change, adjusted bits and bobs, fitted heated grips and stuff but the front brake really feels bobbins. it grabs under about 20mph and doesn't do too much over about 30mph. is it worth fitting a braided hose to it to get a bit more feel to it? I know they make a difference on bigger stuff and on mountain bike disc brakes (to which i'm more accustomed)but is it worth it on my bike? I've cleaned the rotor, scuffed the pads in and made sure it's…

Are the ybr and ybr custom exhausts interchangeable? Just bought a custom and the header pipe is rusted to hell, but all the replacements on eBay are for the standard ybr125 Thanks
