Hey Guys, Well im not sure if any of you have used this site before? I ordered a number plate bracket off of them just before Christmas in which with in 5 minutes my missus had a phone call at home from them saying that due to Christmas that they didn't think that it would get to me so they would send it in the new year for me. So that not a drama for me as the bike is still in bits and i could crack on with other bits. So the new year is now here so i popped an e-mail off to Graham at custom wizard just to see when they would be sending the said item, and he said that it would be going Royal mail 1st class today, GREAT i was thinking.......and with out fail the very n…

Bit of a ramble here but as a biker how do you view cyclists? There sure are a lot about now A number of you will be cyclists too, as I am - serious cycling seems to have become popular For me open roads are far too dangerous for bicycles but these cycling enthusiasts brave them As a motorcyclist the worst situation is turning a corner to find an oncoming car who is overtaking a cyclist Some car drivers just swoop past cyclists, as in the circumstances above, and others hang back for ages Most cyclists realise that two abreast irritates motorists and they usually go single file eventually I think motorbikes are safer than bicycles but I do not know if statisti…

Hi. Last year i decided to buy a 125cc to commute around on due to not having a proper licence. My friend convinced me to buy a scooter which i was not too sure on never owed one before and i enjoy the geared bikes. Anyway due to finance i picked up a good deal on a Yamaha Cygnus 125cc 2012 model with only 6000+ miles on the clock. The bike has been going fine until last year December when one morning the scooter just died on me and the ignition light flashed about 3 times. I pulled over switched off then on again and she started. That afternoon on the way home it happened again. The manual says when you turn the ignition on it will do an electrical test then the light wi…

Hi All, small problem that you can perhaps help me out with, I have (as some of you know) an XJ750 and a Midnight Maxim, the Maxim is in the middle of having it's head repaired but my problem is getting hold of the right head gasket. Both engines look identical externally and the XJ gasket (ebay) looks identincal to the one off of the Maxim but the guy who is selling it does not know if it will fit. Can any of you tell me either do they have the same gasket or a part number for the correct one. Any advice you can offer would be gratefully recieved. Thanks all.

Right so I'm going to be building DTR engines for my 2 DTR projects. What I'm trying to find out is about cylinder heads and squish bands. There are various different cylinder heads and in the detonation area is where they vary. Some are smooth and some have a band which i presume is a squish band? Does this then mean that heads with that squish band are going to produce better power? Some people seem to think it should be smooth? I'm confused! Any help would be good!

I've got the cylinder if and was very pleased by it's condition, you can still see the factory hone lines, however, one area at the read (intake side) of the cylinder has some very lite score lines, you can't feel them when you run your nail over them, so as far as I can tell I could get away with a cylinder hone, but I want to be 100% sure so I thought I'd ask others, below are two links to pictures of the cylinder.

apparently, "daewoo" is korean for "blind stupid twat" Was crossing a bridge this morning, one of two I have to cross on my way to work, and the longer of the two. it is two lanes separated by cement dividers in the center, with cement dividers on the outside between the roadway and a sidewalk. Some jackass in a little daewoo sedan started coming in on me from the left, even though i was even with his front window... talking on his phone and drifting into my lane. The car in front was slowing, and the one behind was even with the daewoo's bumper, so i was pretty well pinched. i hit my horn.... no reaction. i pegged the revs..... no reaction, and now he has me …

Ok, took the bike (FZ400RL) for it's MOT. After he stopped laughing (I wish I was joking there) he pointed out a few things and asked me if I REALLY wanted to go ahead with the MOT...... I have to admit, that while I'm ok with mechanics and (if I say so myself) pretty good with cars, I've never took a bike for an MOT before. My previous bike ownership was back before my car days and they were new, so no need. I know she doesn't LOOK amazing, but I didn't expect things to be *too* bad. Her electrics are all hunky dory, all the switches do what they should etc etc. He gave it a cursory look over. The list he rattled out? Here goes..... fork seals, brake …

Well after passing my test on Monday I actually got out on the bike this evening. The intention was to go to Willingham Woods and I set off to my mates home where we would set off from. Half way to his home the heavens opened up! Bummer. Got to his home and had a cuppa while we waited to see if it would stop. it didn't and I ended up riding back home again in the rain. All in all it was about a twenty minute ride and I was soaked at the end of it but it was worth every minute to be out on the road on my own bike. and I have stopped shaking now.
