my mate , cyril, has just got back from turkey,(i love turkey,,the place not the bird), his daughter and ,,, well lets say he,s a lucky lad having a stunner like emma, hired a quad bike, they were asked to sighn some paper work for insurance purposes and then given the keys, after 150yrd down the road on decending off a small hump bridge, emma felt a sharp pain and asked ashley to pull over. ........ at the hospital she was told to stay in traction for 16 week as she has fractured her spine. cyril has been in touch with said quad company , who have told him he sighned a whaver that clears them of any responsability , and that she had no insurance with there company,…

  4. Hey guys - if you've got a loose gear level, kick start etc do yourself a huge favour and tighten it up correctly before you ride again. If you strip a spline on an engine/gearbox shaft get ready for a nasty ££ surprise and a load of agro . Some of you may have seen or even bought a bike where the problem has been 'fixed'/bodged' by welding the lever to the shaft - the problem then gets worse when there's an engine casing that needs to come off. My old TY had a loose gearlever because it couldn't be tightened up anymore as the pinch gap the alan screw tightens had fully closed. This is an aftermarket lever - not uncommon on off road bikes as its one of the…

  5. Hi, I have a Yamaha YZF R1 1999 model I can tell from the headlights that the bike must have been a grey import, Im guessing from the temperature gauge being in fahrenheit that the bike was originally for America. Im trying to check that the engine number is correct to the chassis number and probably because the bike is an import motorverse.com does not recognise it. The bike has been registered in this country since 1999 and have owned it myself since Feb 2008. Would be grateful for any pointers as to where to look to find out more information. Thanks Dale

I'd joined yamahaclub over three months or so and what great help he has given me, even to the extent of sending me a part to get my XJ600 running. Now that's what I call a decent bloke relying on trust from me considering I'm a 'noobie'.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Cheers Drewpy

Three men, a Scouser, a Manc and a Rasta all in the maternity ward waiting for their partners to give birth. The midwife comes out and tells them congratulations, they're all father's of beautiful healthy boys, however unfortunately they've run out of the name tags, and the babies have been mixed up, so if they could each go in and identify their sons from any family resemblance etc. The Manc wants to go first, so in he goes and comes out with a black baby The Rasta looks a bit confused : "Excuse me", he says, "But don't you think he's likely to be mine ?" "Probably", replies the Manc, "But one of them in there's a Scouser, and I'm takin' no chances !!!!!"

long story short - i bought a chinese bike, it was rubbish, so i ended up in a dispute with the dealer and i didnt register the bike in my name as i thought it would be going back to the seller soon. i didnt have the V5 with the bike, it was supplied with just the new keeper slip. the bike has now been stolen and I'm not registered as the keeper, is there anyway i can get it registered? the form for a new V5 needs to have the VIN number, which i dont have, i bought a HPI check but that just gives the engine number, not the VIN. i know i'm a numpty for not registering it, and this whole disaster has taught me some lessons, but i really need the insurance to pay o…

  14. Right, I /NEED/ a new barrel and piston, as in I can't get to college without my bike. A new barrel and piston from Yamaha (sit down for this big fucking surprise) is gonna cost well over £300, obviously I can't afford this. There are other, aftermarket barrels available on eBay, generally range from £38 to £50. What do you think of them? Obviously they're shitty Chinese rubbish, but how bad do you think they really are? Keep in mind that without the bike I'm basically stranded on top of a tiny village in the middle of bum-fuck-nowhere in north Wales. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Cylinder-Barrel-Piston-Kit-For-YAMAHA-YBR125-YBR-125-Cylindre-/321946041092?hash=…

Recently I changed a piston and rings on a 1999 TW125 (the same engine as a SR125 i understand). I bought a set from Wemoto which was not genuine Yamaha. There were no markings on the rings and I couldn't say for sure which of the two top rings was which. After much trawling around the internet and leaving a post in the workshop forum here (thanks Airhead for getting back to me), I did come across this site, which might be useful. http://www.dansmc.com/rings.htm Although obviously I can't substantiate it, it does look like the fella has looked into it.

A father walks into a restaurant with his young son.. He gives the young boy three 10p coins to play with to keep him occupied. Suddenly, the boy starts choking, going blue in the face.. The father realizes the boy has swallowed the coins and starts slapping him on the back.. The boy coughs up 2 of the 10p's, but keeps choking. Looking at his son, the father is panicking, shouting for help. A well dressed, attractive, and serious looking woman, in a blue business suit is sitting at a coffee bar reading a newspaper and sipping a cup of coffee. At the sound of the commotion, she looks up, puts her coffee cup down, neatly folds the n…

So, my Xvs 125 came with a smashed up choke switch and a missing cable, aren't I lucky. I've eventually found replacements, but I was wondering would a car style choke (twist and lock type) work? I've got a bit of flat space to put one in if it does work, plus it's a step forward to decluttering the handle bars.
