Hi There, I am getting really close to purchasing my first raider and am pretty excited. In my area(ish) there are 3 Raiders i am looking at. Any advice from people on these forums with regards to what you think about the 3 options below is very much appreciated. (1) The 2013 Raider: $6600 - Color of bike is Candy Red. Pros: Only 600 Miles on odometer Is a 2013 model (newest of the 3 i am looking at) Located 15 minutes from where i live. Has the cobra black pipes (even though they are scratched a little), can i clean these up? Paint over them and make look like new again? (More about this…

Hey peeps!. Not been online much recently, inbetween buying cars in from Japan, rebuilding my boat and galavanting around the world with work it seems that FUCR has been left in the corner of the garage now surrounded by DT125LC bits, f*ck knows where the XJ Turbo has gone and the DT50 hasn't been seen for months. Currently i'm out in Cyprus, and tbh it gets boring here, you can either become a gym monster or a beer monster, pumping iron isnt my thing and there's only so many times you can wake up in the middle of nowhere naked in a pool of your own bodily fluids before you start to question your direction in life, so whilst most people bring a book/kind…

Well peeps, much like a domestic cat i have brought home a half-dead but adorably tiny piece to play with. Yep, it's another chappy!... bought this one at the Kempton Park autojumble on saturday, looking very sorry for itself, the front end is in a carier bag with bent forks and generally looking sorry for itself. Tonight will mainly be spent reassembling and finding out what is missing, luckily i still have a selection of parts from my american chappy which i did manage to smuggle back (seat, wheel, complete exhaust e.t.c), started with a few kicks and ran quite nicely ,only thing it is missing is a headlight although im fairly sure i have a …

OMG, this damn bike is working me all the way, every item has been buggerd at some point by either 'it'll do' or the wanna go faster idiots. Screws and fasters fuckt through no more than bad tools, or just not bothering to get the thread square before tightening stuff. The exhaust was fitted badly, the reason, so it would clear the oil pump fittings, the catch? The pipe is designed for a bike that's had the pump removed (its max output is a bit wimpy for big bore kits and tuning so commonly removed). Also the small stuff, the frame is powder blue, I have given up on greasy finger prints. I fitted the carb, the choke arm fouls, because it was bent to clear t…

HI So My 1977 DT 175 1g1 is up for its annual MOT, it’s done almost 100 miles since last year, It has a new battery and new bulbs, well 100 miles old, It’s failed for having a head light aim too high, (‘tilt it down then’? I said) It does not have a discernible beam pattern, (they never did??) Oh and the indicators are dim and when they flash other lights are affected, (They always did that it’s only a 6 volt system) Nothing has changed since last year, that was my local Honda bike shop, the older guy who normally does it is on holiday so the youngster did it, Oh and he tried to start it like it was a 1960s 500 cc…

Hi guys, my wife and I are both 5’9” tall in our 50s and fed up with only being able to ride for about 1 1/2 hours before being in discomfort. Wanting a tourer (just back into bikes after 30 years) rather than use my Thunderace I bought the beemer for 2 up riding. It’s ok for short trips up to an hour and a half but a 2 hour trip at the weekend was no fun..... and it was a nice sunny day! With a budget of around £5,000 any ideas? I’ve no objection to any make or age - we just want to lose the discomfort. I’d thought of a Goldwing / F6C but don’t want to lose the essence of using the bike and getting wedged in traffic. Thanks in advance, Malcolm

Well here is the local plod on his Yamaha SR150, which i never even knew existed. Anyway i still havent been able to get a photo of one of them strange trike/van! Oh yeah and of course had to send you a pic of my last meal! Not only did it contain OPIUM and MSG! It also was served with alive fish in the hotpot, a still breathing half skinned frog x2 alongside, duck intestines and ox stomach. THIS is beyond a doubt worse than the Dog or Snake!!! Sorry about the size of the pics, i cant get any smaller with my cam. Hopefully one of the lovely mods may even reduce it for you pikey 56k'ers 8)

...So as not to inadvertantly hijack another thread (I'm guilty of it too  )....I thought I'd carry on here.... About the only things that fit that bill right now are an EX500 Ninja or an SV650 :? .....oh & of course the new FZ6 Fazer 8) I used to ride this for 13 years, & TBH am missing it quite a bit lately .... Back in the 80's, all the manufacturers had middleweights (pre-600) both in the sportbike & cruiser classes. But now, you're hard-pressed to find any NON full-on 600 sportbikes......closest thing really is the SV650. When I 1st saw the new FZ6, I thought "Thats the ticket I've been waiting for!"......that is until …

Hi, l have just taken my R1 for it's first MOT, it has a micron high level on it which isn't road legal however it is all stamped to keep the dim gits happy, not being sure how l stood with it on for the MOT l asked my dealer if it would pass. To my utter suprise it is now down to the tester to deam if it is too loud or not, and not if it has the correct stamps. Guess what, you can thank harley dickheadson for this little ray of sunshine because they refuse to put euro stamping on any exhaust and choose to write Harley Davidson instead, and being Harley they can do what the hell they like. However, you will still get pulled and be given the chance to share a shower with t…

...winter commuting by bike! i've been on the bikes a long time now and quite frankly i'm getting sick of being freezing, soaked, riding on slippy crappy roads that deteriorate my bike, putting expensive tyres on to get no enjoyment out of them, going to my gf's with all the gear on then having to change into something better, needing a piss all the time because of the cold! think i'm going to go for a small 4x4, will be handy for keeping tools in for summer jobs i get, will be able to pull my gf's horse box, and will keep me warm! i'm thoroughly pissed off, and cold, and my bike's f'in filthy again! to hell with all the macho all year round biker stuff i always stuck…

Hi all. I have just found this forum and have decided to join. I have a Yamaha SR250Se Special which I am currently working on - it has been in the kitchen for a while. I also have a MT50 (Honda) which needs to be fixed up...I got them both as part of my bike maintenance course. I'm in Aylesbury, single with 1 child....that's it.

Just wondering what you guys wear whilst riding in the Hot Weather? I wear jeans, boots, gloves, helmet and a textile jacket to commute to work and it's bloody hot man!! I see some riders wearing only shorts and t-shirt....is that you?
