The FJR is a great bike - brought me back to Yamaha after many years... The standard seat is OK, but need something comfier for long trips. Anyone know how to get a comfort seat without having to be without the original for several weeks? Incredible that these things can't be got off the shelf given that the FJR has 28% of the US touring market and is pretty popular throughout europe too. Its possible to buy a comfort seat from the USA (Yamah make one and sell it there), but the cost including duty is £420 - too steep for me. If anyone has either an original 06 on seat or a bagster etc for this model, I'm interested in buying... Thanks Hedgehog

Don't know if any of you guys have seen this but take a look - " URGENT ACTION NEEDED - by YOU! Apparently Transport for London are receiving very few comments from motorcyclists about the new London-wide TfL trial of motorcycles in red-route bus lanes. The latest news is that as part of the evaluation of the scheme 'users views' will be taken into account and 'numbers responding' will play a part in this. Clearly none of us want to see a situation where 5,000 cyclists have protested and 200 motorcyclists support. It's this kind of thing that would shift the political balance against us. However, cyclists campaign groups are steadily orchestrating a build …

Well since coming off the bike in Morocco I have been wondering what to do with it. Even considering just sticking it on Ebay as is and letting it go for whatever. Although underneath with a bit of TLC it is a cracking bike and what with the travels I have decided I really need two bike anyway and this would actually seem to be the most cost efficient option. So I have purchased the main parts as needed. These were originally quoted from a dealer in Burton and the approximate cost was: Left Hand Mirror £46 Left Hand indicator £36 Gear Shift Linkage £58 So a bit of Ebaying later Mirrors Pair with carbon effect £31 delivered 4* Mini clear indicator…

hi there i have tried most places and had no luck so this is my last resort, i have a 99' fazer 400 and ever since the heavy frost i have been experiencing an intermitant lack of power which is accompanied by a noise (like someone is putting their hand over the airfilter intake) along with irratic speedo readings. When this happens the bike will only rev to about 2000rpm thus i cannot get out of first gear and can only do about 10mph with the bike backfiring as well. Also if i put an indicator on the power comes and goes with the flashing of the indicator.(So this suggests electrical rather than carburattion) I have had the bike for 3.5 years now and this is the only fau…

The Yamaha TY 250 Monoshock quickly established itself as the yardstick trials iron . It overcame it's original "too expensive" tag and became the "MUST HAVE" and was the one to beat for years on end. The one shown below is from the original batch but had it's frame, swinging arm and exhaust system chromed too whilst it was sleaved down to 200 cc's to come within the engine size permitted for B Class (younger 11 > 13 yearolds) Youth's

I'm having terrible trouble reading the forum for weeks now it has taken ages for the page to load - if at all. This is first post since forum has moved to new servers I think. So I'm gonna make it a long one! How you getting on with the Oxford Grips OG?! I've fitted some to my T'cat and well - Awesome is all I can say. I was on A57 (two weekends ago) from Sheff when silencer clamp bolt fell off and silencer twisted round and stuck out a mile (grounding on right handers). Shit myself. After my Brother rescued me I nearly drowned going through deep water near Bamford (Water coursing off the hills from the melting snow). Shit myself again. Was great though, looked …

Did the service with Tony yesterday, and it all went swimmimgly apart from Tony busting a couple of the quick release plastic clip things and me sulking at his suggestion of replacing them with similar items from the local car shop aaaaaaaaaaagh . Just the thought drives me wild, so another 20 mile trip for 2 clips worth 85p each I suppose you cant put a price on peace of mind. ( god I sound sad, But if a jobs worth doing........) Anyway its done. I went for a quick blast to Squires which is about 2 miles from my house. I didnt let the clutch warm up enough before grabbing a handfull and it wasnt happy about going into gear a couple of times but once it was warm and marin…
