Hi I’m looking to run a usb charger on the xj600 I have found a random 3 pin plug under the seat it has a switched live in it but I would like to know what it would be there for. I would add a photo but I can’t work out how to it is a inline 3 pin male plug that comes from the main loom with two other plugs that have been linked out help would be nice but understand if no one can with the little information I have given

Hi, I'm new to this site but I'm hoping someone on here can help me. I got a 1990 pre-diversion XJ600 a few months ago and it ran fine for a month and then one morning just wouldn't start. It was running OK the evening before but that was it the next morning. It turned over & over until the battery was nearly flat. Recharged it over night and tried again but no good. A friend looked over the electrics and said it was the CDI as all else looked ok except there was no spark. £90 later for another CDI and still no go! hi guys, ive just bought my first real bike a 1997 xj 600n and im attempting to make it into a masterpiece. ive just got a few questions that id like to put forward to all you guys. first does anyone know if a similar year fazer rear wheel will fit on an xj? second will most mono-shocks from the same year fit the xj im trying to jack it up abit at the back? third is there a 4-4 downpipe or one that lifts the exhaust up as they are low as standard? i have some pics of the bike when i got it but i need to upload them. the previous owner had dropped it a few times and the exhaust was snapped at the 2-1 on the left section. i have latter noticed that the clutch pedal…

Hello all, i'm after a XJ750 maxim seat cover, the only place if can find one is in the states and its going to cost a fortune.. otherwise i have found someone local who can make one up for £100 which is also too much.. does anyone know where i might be able to get hold of one? thanks all

Hey peeps, The XJ finally died on me last night, coming back from newbury along the A4 with a chinese takeaway in the tankbag, just about got into hungerford when the power died and it would not idle, sounded like it was struggling to run, possibly starved of fuel?, it died when pulling away from a roundabout, after i had pushed it round the corner to a petrol station and swore at it a bit it started and began to run correctly. Im going to do a plug chop on it today and see how that goes, its running a motad 4-into-1 with more holes in it than a sieve, thats the only engine mod on it as far as im aware so, why has this happened, what has caused this to happen and h…

Hi there, just bought an xj diversion s 1998 (12500 miles) and i've noticed a very slight oil leak at the front of the head just below the where the manifold joins it, it dosen't seem to be affecting the bike's performance in anyway, but should i be worried and what could it be? its my 1st big bike, am i just over-reacting? cheers karim

Just a quick question, is the pre div xj900f the same front end wise as the xj600? as in will forks etc, fit? could the panels and tailpiece be changed over from a 900 to a 600?

Hi everyone, just found the site and fairly new to biking so hoping I can pick some brains from time to time. I have an xj900 divi which is in great nick for the year but the fuel gauge has packed in - not the end of the world, but wondered if there's an easy fix?

Just wondering what mileage other XJ6 owners get out of their bikes on a full tank - be it city, motorway or mixed riding? I've not had my bike long and had the experience of the digital dash and its low fuel warning the other day. It confused the hell out of me at the time - but have since read the manual so now I get it. Although I've not quite worked out how many miles I have left once the fuel warning starts to flash. Can anyone tell me roughly what they get once the warning starts to flash? Or what's the most miles they'd travel once it comes on? When did modern motorbikes become so sophisticated? Hey guys, Firstly, appologies for spelling mistakes, secondly... can anyone tell me the advantage/disadvantages for removing the catalitic converter on my xj6? from what i understand if i remove it it will sound a little bit louder and give me slightly better mpg... but will i have any sort of insurance problems / testing problems in a couple years when it gets to MOT time? just wanted to know a bit about it all really.. thanks

hi there. not sure if anyone can help but i have this annoying problem with my bike , when i use the bike from cold all is good in the gear change but when it gets hot i have trouble in selecting 5 and 6 gears you pull the clutch in flick the lever but the lever moves but wont go into gear do it again and it does .its only ever the higher gears only going up never coming down its been serviced recently and as its still under warranty i mentioned it and no problem found clutch cable adjustment is as manufactures guidelines ,i am begining to wonder if its just me but i know dam well it isn't do you think its because its still low mileage and not broke in yet ,i never…

Hi all, I have the bike listed above which has the exhaust underneath the bike instead of on the side, but to me it sounds too quiet and a little bit boring! I want to know what I can do to the bike to give it a little bit of growl and louder than my hoover (which is quiet)! I have to bear in mind that it has a throttle restriction to 33bhp, which also includes a restriction in the exhaust too I believe?

Hi Everybody After 40+ years in the sadle finally got Divvy S. 1999 model low miles and generally good nick. Does have a few stone chips on the paintwork. Does anyone know where I can get some candy red paint? Cheers Phil
