After getting my bike back after 2 weeks I was pretty happy, its running a lot better and apart from the bulb holder breaking it was ok, until this afternoon. I was doing 55 mph on a by pass the road was busy and the wheel bearings went!!! I swear to God it just happened in an instant, the back wheel started bouncing all over and so did the bike. It was pretty scary and thank God I managed to control the bike, for a few seconds I thought I was coming off and I braced myself. Anyway got to a safe place and phoned the garage up who had just replaced the bearings and all the other £350 worth of work. They come out pretty quick and when he looked at it, he said the carrier be…

Hi everyone can you please help I am in danger of stripping my x-max down to parts. I am trying to do the simple task of replacing the headlights on my 2006 x-max yp250r. I have removed the Cowling from the front of the scooter as directed in the service manual (2 scews at the top and one at the bottom)this does allow me to get my hand in to touch the wire connecting to the bulb but this does not seem to provide enough access to change the bulb, I am therefore assuming I have not removed all of it. Has anyone out there done this and can they confirm that you need hands like a 5 year old to access and change the bulbs or have I just not removed what I should have. Pl…

Hi there peeps i have been hoarding parts for my DT50MX project for a few months now but there is one part that no breaker seems to have and appear to more rare than rocking horse sh*t made of unobtanium with hens teeth in it. It is the rear light bracket/assembly, which also holds the number plate, i have bought a universal stop/tail light for the time being but it would require new mounting holes to be drilled in the rear mudguard and bracket and is not the original part which sort of defies the whole point of this project in addition to requiring a self-fabricated number plate mount. is there a way that i can find the part number, and find out which other m…

Morning I recently purchased a Yamaha XC 125 TR Cygnus 2010 and noticed in the manual which came with it that it recommend that I use yamalube. I decided to have a look on-line and noticed that they offered both a fully and semi synthetic oil and I am not sure which one I should go for. I was wondering if anyone would be be able to help me Regards Glen Roberts

Hi I've just joined. I've got a 1992 Diversion that I built up from a box of bits 5 years ago. I use it as a winter bike and it has now done 59000 miles. It has always had a clunky gearbox - the worst I've ever experienced - and the timing chain tensioner has no adjustment left so I've decided to change the engine for a lower mileage one. The engine in the bike has a number that starts with 4BR which is the Yamaha model number. The new engine I've got starts 4DU and seems identical in every way. What is Yamaha model 4DU and what are the differences between the two engines. Can any one help please? msdavidson

well i bought a spotless 1998 XJ 600S Diversion from a man in the middleands. However, when his mate was delivering it he crashed it at low speed on a diesel patch. now the fairing is completely ruined with BIG cracks and scratches. . i am now looking for a replacement fairing and have come across a few earlier model fairings going second hand for good prices. i am wondering whether or not these will fit my bike? the fairing i am looking at buying is from a 1994 model whereas mine is a 1998. Can anyone help me? many thanks, Mark

I have aquired a V reg xj600 as a project bike but unfortunately the previous owner has cut off the rear of the frame ( I think he was intending to build a street fighter). Will the frame from an earlier model fit the bike or did they change frames from year to year? Any help or information will be appreciated.
