Hi Folks! I cant wait untill next Saturday, i'm getting my restored LC 350 back from the tuning guru Bob Farnham based down here at Brands Hatch. It's quite nice cosmetically but not brilliant & it's going to be ridden not a trailer queen. I bought it off ebay 2 months ago with a few spares. The engine has gone to Bob's for a no expense spared rebuild + tune & set-up i have been down to Hein Gericke & bought all the gear (much better than when i was a teenager) & i'm off to brush-up on my riding skills after an absence of 23 years then i'm going for my first ride-out from Kent down to Devon & Cornwall to re-live my youth. The clocks on the bike are a…

  3. Hi all, Without wanting to get bogged down in the argument of tuning a 50cc I'm after two nuggets of information, (1)a guesstimate of the main jet /needle + jet to actually make my bike run at over 1/4- 1/3 throttle and (2)a UK supplier who would have the parts... Basically: DT50M 1980 I have a Mikuni carb supposedly off a DT80, I think it's a Vm18ss -a very rough measurement of the bore suggests it's 18-20mm this is fitted with a yambits big bore kit giving 59-60cc, hytech racing reed, a cone air filter and the restriction to size has been removed from the expansion box to take it to the same diameter as the rear silencer, there was also a crimp put in the rear…

  6. Westminster Council have decided to start charging for parking in motorcycle bays... £1.50/day It's in 'trial' for 3 months and so far it hasn't been well-received by bikers for obvious reasons. My gripe is that a residents car parking permit costs £115 for the year, a bike is £150 for the year (limited to motorcycle bays, no discount for residents). How can this be fair? If this might afftect you PLEASE take 2 mins to drop an email to the address below and COMPLAIN (very un-British!) [email protected] I am told the scheme will go ahead unless there is 'significant resistance' from motorcyclists. This will come in the form of complaints so…

Hi All, Just got my Yamaha V star couple weeks ago - great bike, except the handle bar position. Rode Honda CB900C before this and the bar was just right on that bike - very comfortable, even after 800 miles. I see there are variety of replacement bars out there, as well as custom riser now available, anyone has any experience with using these? Which bar can use the stock cables, any idea? Ride safe

Hello i hope someone can help me with this: i went to buy a TRX 850, cosmetically the bike was in a nice clean condition, but something bothered me, at the join between the head and the cylinder there was a thin line of discolouration all the way around the joint, but only on the left cylinder, i could not work out what this was i.e. oil, grease, or a disintegrating gasket. So i revved the bike and at mid range there was a dark colouration from the exhaust not a lot, just a thin viel of dark grey. from the exhaust. can anyone shed some light as to what this may be.

i got a '82 yamaha XT 550. Oil has started leaking from the bottom of the engine not a lot of oil just a few drips. but its enough that it lowers the oil level on the dip stick. i put more oil in adjusting the oil level to where it should be... Then i didn't ride for two weeks and now the exhaust note sounds different than it did two weaks prior and i hear what i think are the valves taping/a clicking sound coming from the engine. What yall think?

Two aliens landed in the Arizona desert near a gas station that was closed for the night. They approached one of the gas pumps and the younger alien addressed it saying, 'Greetings, Earthling. We come in peace. Take us to your leader.' The gas pump, of course, didn't respond. The younger alien became angry at the lack of response. The older alien said, 'I'd calm down if I were you.' The younger alien ignored the warning and repeated his greeting. Again, there was no response. Annoyed by what he perceived to be the pump's haughty attitude, he drew his ray gun and said impatiently, 'Greetings, Earthling. We come in peace. Do not ignore us this way! Take…
