Hello guys, new to the forum. Just added an MT03 to me collection and although I like this bike it does seem under geared. 5000 rpm brings 70 mph. Most other bikes seem to aim for 4000 rpm at 70. I'm wondering if the previous owner changed a sprocket. Anybody know what standard sizes were on a 2012 model? Also, it is fitted with Leo Vince exhaust and bangs a lot on overrun until fuel has burnt. Is there a fix for this?

I have recently purchased a Yamaha FS1 from the Netherlands that I want to register in the U.K. I sent the identification number stamped on the chassis to YMUK and customer service have replied they cannot identify the chassis number and have no record of the machine, they suggested that I try a owners club for help. the identification number stamped on the machine is 2RU093093. i would appreciate any help to be able to register my machine in the uk. Thanks in advance

Hi everyone. I'm new to this scene but looking to get into it. Just wondered if anyone had any info about launch date and prices for the Tricity 300? (Sorry I know it's a 3 wheeler). I've tried dealers but no luck so far. Thanks

Hey guys, newbie here. I just purchased a 79’ DT 175 that had no papers and no title with it. I’m trying to get it street legal but have no idea how to go about doing that. A lot of people have talked about going through Vermont to get it registered. I would also like to find the VIN if I could but can’t seem to do that after looking the bike over pretty hard. Is there a place it usually is? I have a frame and motor serial number which is 2A7-001###. Can anyone speak to any of this? Thanks!

I have a 2000 yamaha roadstar xvt 1600 Silverado edition. I was wiring up a new backlight and I had the power on without the bike running and totally forgot about all my other lights being on. The battery went dead I charged it and after it charged I started the bike but I noticed none of my lights were on and whenever I went to throttle it it wanted to stall and it made a funny sound like muffled air when that happened. So I went and got a new battery because I just bought this bike in march and dint know how old it was. And that wasn't the problem. I tested the battery it reads 13v and when I start it it goes to 15.25. On and my signals still work my radio does not and …

Just a quick question on the autolube adjustments. I've seen some people say that Yamaha gives a spec as to how much oil should come out with 200 strokes. I can't find the actual spec for my model. Both Haynes and Cylmer manuals dont give that info. I found one forum saing about 5cc/ml per 200 strokes open throttle for a later mx model. Anyone know the specs for my model? Thanks!

Hello All, Not sure if this has been discussed before, but has anyone fitted and run a Boost bottle on a DT 175 MX. I have a spare bottle from my DT 125 LC MK 1 and wondered if it was worth trying. Cheers

I intend to paint my engine soon after I've done all the necessary prep, but just wondering if anybody who's done the same has any recommendations for paints? Obviously gonna need some high temperature primer which was easy to find, but for the engine paint there seems to be so many different types.

I need to replace the original tyres on my YS since they are scary in the wet. The problem is the tyre sizes. I can not get 100/80-18 tyres from a good brand. Michelin used to produce the city pro but when I emailed them I was told it is out of production with no intention to produce. The only choice left is a different size. 100/90-18 or 110/80-18. The rim and bike can take both sizes but both have an additional 10mm in tyre wall height. What do you suggest?

To wind it back, the rear timing sprocket sheared the key and timing slipped and bent both front and rear cylinder valves. Replaced the heads and tried to set the timing from the service manual. after 4 days of failure i sent to a mechanic to do. Well he returned the bike 2 days and $600 later and it stated right away with very strong sounding engine, i took it out several days later and it started first crack, put it in gear and took off strong but once i got up to 20 mph it was double beating and shaking and un ride-able. I opened her up and it seemed the front cylinder was timed perfect to the marks but the rear was off by a few links so i pulled it lined it…

I have a 1988 Yamaha xv400. Recently dropped a bottom end bearing. I've looked into rebuilding but I want to know if I can swap the motor for a xv535 or xv750 of the same era without any major structural changes. Or if anyone in New Zealand know where i can source a second hand motor. Cheers Curt

Nice little ride out with yesterday a couple of pals to Caffeine and Machine, on the outskirts of Stratford. No other bikes there, but some nice cars. It was a bit chilly first thing, but a lovely ride along some back lanes. Being with a new Enfield Himalayan 400 kept the speed down, but I really enjoyed the back roads around Southam/Gaydon/Kineton and Stratford

Hi all, im looking to see if it’s possible to put one of the new DT175 heads from eBay on a DT175E engine. The heads are slightly different (see picture). This would be for the 1978-81 dt175 bikes. Differences of heads pic The thing I’m more concerned with is the intake opening is bigger on the new DT175 head Thanks, McCooey

Well, the lil cbr has the most pathetic wheel/tyre combo at 80/17 100/17 i mean come on there are pushbikes with wider, thats fact too not just internet bull. Anyway, looking at her boyfriends bike, then looking again with a tape measure, what do you know the spacings work to switch the wheels. So she may well get some yzf wheels in her cbr, get em powder coated repsol orange. 😈 Can feel the hate 😱

Hey everyone! 👋🏼 I'm working on my first bike - Yamaha SR125, and there's a lot of technical stuff that I don't really understand - could use a bit of advice. So the thing is, I absolutely hate the original levers of my bike, they are way too big and out forward for my hands, the position also doesn't allow me to add handguards, plus they just look ugly. I really want to get a set of aftermarket levers, but of course they don't make any for this bike model. So I'm thinking - would it work if I got like a set of lever holders (perches) from a different model and coupled those up with new aftermarket levers? Has anyone done something like this? I don't see any…
