Ok, so I just got an old DT and it is in rough shape. I finally got it running but I have a question about the gearbox breather. Is it supposed to be super loose and easy to take in and out? It seems to me that it should fit a little more snug, because right now I think it could easily get water or dirt etc in it and it could probably even shake loose? Any thoughts? Also, any links to a manual? Thanks

So just rode to work this morning bike felt a but sluggish , but I put this down to the cold morning, on arriving I notice white smoke coming from front exhaist pipe and the pipe itself was black and almost looks burnt, Can someone tell me what this, is it just the crap on the exhause burning off Just to edit the smoke was coming from the black patch on exhaust external and not out the end

Hi. please excuse my ignorance. I once owned a yz125 when i was 17 but now im 45 and have not owned or ridden since i was a kid. But this Christmas I got my 14 year old his 1st bike. A 1997 Yamaha RT 100 dirtbike. Seems to be in good shape although the girl who owned it painted it pink and green..lol. Anyway.. I have tons of questions some simple and some not so simple. So im looking for help. lets start with an "easy" one. does this bike take gas oil mix? if so whats the ratio and easiest way to figure out how much oil per 1 gal of gas.......that may be a dumb question but I saw somebody talking about an auto oil injector..and i was confused if this bike needs oil …

Hi all, so, I've had my frame powder coated and therefore my frame numbers are very faint so I am having a VIN plate made up, one of the boxes on the VIN plate requires the KW power output, on my logbook it states 307KW but this seems high to me as when I google it it says it only has 10.8KW at 7000rpm, I obviously don't want to stamp incorrect information, can anyone help please?? Bike is a 2004 Yamaha DTRE 125cc

Hello, I recently acquired a partially disassembled 1965 YM1. I'm working through what i'll need to get it up and running and my current hurdle is the petcock. Mine is missing the internal filter screen and the two copper pipes with their filter screen with the pipes being broken off at the base. So far I've found 1 replacement on ebay listed at $250 which seems to much to be paying. Are there any cheaper alternatives or kits to rebuild my part?

Hi just returned for a run out done about 250KM on my Dragstar 1100 & noticed a slight oil leak from the front of the engine. Not cleaned the engine & checked exactly where it si coming from but it look like its either the head gasket or from the plate behind the exhaust front pipe at the front of the engine . My question is is the head gasket prone to leaking ? the bikes only done 33,000 KM ? Answers to ease my fears. Is the head gasket a difficult job to replace on the front head please? anyone help ? hope so cya Bill

I bought spedometer from ebay, probably is a not oryginal one. I replaced this one by myself, but now spedometer showing me 10 mph to much of speeding. Do you know how to fix this problem ? Hey guys. I have a 1981 sr259. 3y9 by the vin plate. Im having trouble finding parts correspondent to this nodel but found a ton of parts for the 3y6. Does anyone know if the 3y6 parts transfer over to the 3y9? ?? Or any secret source online other then the old ebay? Thanks heaps Jaseo

Has anyone tried Philips X-treme Vision bulbs? They're supposed to be 130% brighter than standard H4 bulbs, and a lot easier than trying to do an LED conversion. Today I was out riding most of the day. Not a single problem. Besides the usual driver you have to swerve for because they've never heard of checking their blind spots. Coming home though, as I came down the freeway off-ramp, downshifting to 4th.. Was fine. Then 3rd.. fine. Then 2nd.. Hang on. Clutch pulled in and I'm pressing down on the gear shift lever and nothing. My foot is just moving up and down. No click, no gear engaging. Wth. I accelerated a bit more and squeezed the clutch back in but nothing. I tapped my foot a few times and it was just freely bouncing up and down. I eventually got it into 2nd then pulled up and it wouldn't get into 1st. Same issue.. …

Hey guys I am looking at getting an SCR950 at the end of this month and I was hoping some of you guys may have one and have added various accessories to it. I know Yamaha don't do many official accessories and there are tons of 3rd party ones, but I am unsure as how many may actually work. A more comfortable seat and paniers would be the main things I would be after. Does anyone know if you can get these for the SCR950? Thanks in advance Jon
