  4. Valentino, how are you today? VR: “I’m fine, everything is ok, and this is the most important thing. I did not injure myself too much except for a big bump to the head. Last night I had a little headache but today I'm fine, I'm 100%. It was a real shame because before the race we made a change that would have helped me a lot; the bike was strong, I was going well, I had recovered the gap in the first few laps and I was there with the leading riders. I felt good and I am sure I could have made a good race, so it was a real shame to fall. In a way I'm almost glad because even though we had a difficult weekend on Sunday we were competitive and this was supposed to be a track…

for peeps who store their bike over Winter, ethanol fuel attracts water and rusts the tank, leaves residue in carbs and rots rubber. Aspen fuel is used to replace this over the winter and is stable for 5 years according to the importers. no idea of the price though http://www.aspenfuel.co.uk/dealers/dealer-locator/

  8. Started by never too old to ride,

Hi my son recently bought a XT125 2005 vintage with only one ignition key which he has now mislaid or lost, he has bought a new switch for a 2007 model as the correct year one is £70 dearer in the hope it would fit without too much trouble. We have now found that although they both have 6 wires from the switch , they all go to one multi plug on the new switch but some go to a separate plug on the switch on the bike, does anybody know if its possible to splice and shrink wrap the right wires from the new switch to the old wiring, if any idea of wire colours it would be a help as we have no wiring diagrams.

Having a workshop clearout and came across the above. Part no 90891-10124. In Yamaha partspeak 'kit' is synonymous with 'and washer' Can't be arsed eBaying it due to the number of fuckwit queries my last eBay sale raised. PM me if it's of any use to you

  10. With the track still cool in the morning, teammate Rossi took his time to further test set-ups with the aim to prolong tyre life. When the track started to warm up he put his YZR-M1 to the test and posted the sixth fastest time of 2’00.676s, +0.713s behind his teammate, despite suffering some chattering issues. While the track was baking in the blistering afternoon temperatures at 2pm, the riders took some time to regain their strength and consume enough fluids, before heading back out into the bright sunshine at the Sepang International Circuit. When Lorenzo and Rossi retuned to the track they used the last two hours of the session to test various aspects of the bi…

  13. Hi guys! First post here so hello to everyone! So to get straight to it, I want to convert my XVS 125 Dragstar to a Bobber and I just wanted to ask if anyone else has done it and weather they ran into any particular issues or tricky bits? I'm going to keep it suspended on the back, not hartailing it. Thinking of cutting the rear mudguard frame off just after the first "ridge" so that the custom mudguard going on there will have a bit more support, though i'm not sure yet. Thanks for any help guys, when I have pictures I'll post them up on here Cheers Again! Adam

Here is my eldest with his friends 2 year old who just loves bikes, as soon as I arrived at the camp site he couldn't wait to get on my bike, he would have stayed on it all day long if we let him. To his dads dismay when he was asked if my bike was better than dads he replied yes its much better but then his dad does ride a Pan European.

Thought this looks pretty good. Something to do with all those old parts instead of binning them. Must be hell of a lotta tack welding on those chains.

  18. Engine seized up as result of exhaust side of piston's skirt breaking apart and falling into lower end of engine. Yes there was engine oil and also coolant, both before and after the "seizure"... or that would have been a big lecture to the boy! I read on another blog this is usually the result of running to lean, thus too hot and pop??? In hindsight, the bike was accumulating some oil/sand at the exhaust port/muffler connection on the cylinder. It was initiated by an over full oil condition, which was corrected, weeks before. But, maybe that popped the seal. The bike started, ran well, plenty of power, it was odd. Another blogger suggested it is caused by too muc…
