Vant the xj6 engine to rew higer and be more like the R6 engine it really is.... Got a powercomander5 and a fullrange exhaust from SC.project but it seems to need more air and gas too, thinkig of bigger injektors and filterbox.

  2. hi folks, not sure if this was the right place (again) so apologies if not. my XVS1100 will be here in a few weeks and as i'm a good citizen i would like to pick up some old stock pipes before i take it to the DVLA to be registered and VOSA tested. only required temporarily (on the offchance someone local has a spare set) because i will off course be replacing them as soon as i'm on the road, needless to say with a government approved exhaust and big baffles to dampen down all that horrible engine noise that could disturb the native hedgehogs & sparrows. best place to find stock pipes or known wreckers yards who deal with yamahas anyone? Grave(ly…

  4. 4 frigging hours - that's how long! 10 minutes to adjust the chain and check the tension along its whole cycle, the rest of the time drilling the bolt holding the stabilising bar out because the bastard thing sheared off and was rusted into the main casing! And now the wife has gone out to work so I have little ones to look after. No ride for me then! Bet it pisses down tomorrow!

Ive just bought a yamaha dt 125r sm as a little project, its previously had both top and bottom end rebuilds. The previous owner admitted he spanked it everywhere and has cooked the engine. The bore is fine as is the piston, theres alot of oil in the radiator but the thing thats confused me is it seems theres 4 stroke in the head, any ideas?

  13. Hi, I'm new to this forum. Just got my Yamaha DT125 R 1999. I have a little problem with it, it runs fine at low revs but as soon as it gets to around 6000 revs it bogs out, also as soon as the throttle is opened fully it does exactly the same. It's not a restriction as the amount of revs it bogs at changes every time. Thought it was a dirty carb but its not that as had it all cleaned up and didn't stop the bogginess. Been told it could be my coil so I've brought a new coil. Any other ideas on what it could be?

hi all, just bought a yamaha 600s diversion N reg, so believe it's a 95 model. the bike is in superb condition and has only done a genuine 2800 miles from new. are there and geeks out there that can help me with an issue that has become very fustrating. the fuel overflow pipe that is split over the 4 carbs constantly leaks fuel over night. this does stop after a period of driving/ warmed up. i understand it's a vaccum system, so could it be a vacum pipe issue. the also appears to be a small square box type thing coming off the tank, have no idea what this is but that also leaks. the fuel system/ carbs had spent a month or so in a sonic bath so all clean …

Many thanks to the responses on the previous post. I had the battery tested and the cell reading was bad. so replaced with a quality new one but still refusing to spin up the starter. I was going to bridge the starter relay terminals with a quick dab with a screw driver but 2 nuts on the side panel are solid and wont shift. soaked with wd40 and keft for few hours but still wont budge. So might just as well take a chance and replace the starter motor. Will post an update in due course. Ride safe Phil

I have just imported a dt175 1974 tank from America, and it does not fit, the tank measures 17 3/4 from front monting lug to the centre of rear mounting hole, however the frame measures 16.5 ?? Really frustrated, both my frame and engine numbers match and start at 443 019297, ive heard there was a change that year but as rare as these parts are, I cant really afford to keep spending money on what sellers claim to be the right part, is there a match and what tank do I have, please help. ??
