Think I'm a sucker for challenges! I seem to be collecting 2 stroke DT's. I currently own a 125MX which has morphed into a 175MX and will be a restoration project, and also a DT125LC II which again will be a restoration project. I picked up a frame from EBAY, primarily because it had a better swinging arm for peanuts, and after a few beers have come up with a crazy idea to put it back on the road as a project bike... here lies the problem.. It's not a UK spec model, (Frame number starts 18G ******) which I've had confirmed by Yamaha UK, but it's a DT125/175L which is a cross between an 'MX' & and LC Mk I. Just purchased an xs360 and i could get it started but I have to give it gas to keep it going, if I let off the throttle once it's started it dies. I'm hoping this is battery related because when I try to start it back up it won't turnover, when I trickle charge the battery for a while it will always start up first try just won't stay running. help please!

Just bought an yamaha xs360, everything is in great shape but I had a problem with the clutch. I went to pull in the clutch while stopped in my driveway, heard a pop, and looked down at the clutch cable which had popped out of the push rod assembly and casing. on further inspection and removal of the case i found that the spring connected to the worm nut was stretched out and had little to no resistance. I have since replaced it, put the clutch cable back in, case back on, but now i get no resistance on the clutch lever, i can pull it in but it won't engage and there is no resistance. I have little experience with bikes in general but I'm trying to learn anything is helpf…

I recently done an oil change and I have managed to damage the thread that the Allen bolt from the oil chamber screws into. I have as a quick fix, do the PTFE mend, which seems to hold, but I think it's best to replace. I have a 95 (M) plate and seen quite a few replacement cases for sale on eBay, but none of them are from that year. Do I need to wait until a 95 clutch case becomes available or will anyone from any year do the job. Thanks in anticipation

Hi, been looking for a renthal kit to replace my current standard set up, (looks like a push bike chain next to my mates wr250), but can't seem to find a renthal kit for the Dt, are there other models that will fit? I think its a 428 chain, but still unsure. If not a renthal are there other quality chain kits out there? Any help much appreciated Toby

Hi, just bought XJ600 1991, replaced stater, new battery. Seem to be getting a spark sometimes when starting and not other times, just seems to turn over and all of a sudden will get a spark and other times not at all. Does anyone have any advice or have / has had similar problem as I am racking my brains?!?!? Cheers David

Hi...I have a 2007 XT which overall has been a great first bike but the headlight is rubbish. I want to replace it with a 60/55w H4 P43t Halogen bulb. Does anyone know if this will work or am in danger overloading the electrics?

When I went to leave for work today I noticed that all of my fuel was in a puddle underneath my bike. I noticed that it is all coming from one of the pipes underneath my tank. I believe it is the overflow for my injectors but I could be wrong. I am curious what is wrong and how to fix it because it's very expensive and frustrating

Good Afternoon one and all. My 650 dragstar (not classic) has a rear wheel problem. I have only done 1500 miles since buying it in February this year and the spokes have started "loosening". I have tightened them and the wheel is still true, but I noticed that the holes in the hub have started to elongate. Does any one know where I can get a good condition hub, or wheel complete? I have trawled the internet to no avail. If I can't get one, is it possible for a wheel company to redrill the hub and fit larger gauge spokes? Any advice would be very welcome. Cheers Peter

i'm thinking of painting my dtr but not sure what color i was thinking white and red or something like the plastic white and the frame red any ideas let me know, also the bike is black also where can i get stencils like rockstar or something not monster to many people have that on there bikes looking for something that will make mine look like a one of a kind :L

I can't get my bike started anymore. Yesterday afternoon it started up but I had to keep it alive with the choke. Does anyone know what could be the problem? I'm fairly new at motorcycles

I mentioned in my intro that yesterday I became the owner of a Oct'2011 Yamaha 125 YBR (EFI). Back in the 90's I had a 50cc Yamaha FS1E to get me to work/college and back. I am so far really impressed with with my purchase and very pleased with the Yamaha Dealer in Waltham Cross in Hertfordshire.

hi can someone help me on this problem i am having with my 89 dt125r i filled it up with oil and after 10 min there is no sign through the oil eye of there being any oil and u can see it as silver so i know there no oil but every time i fill it up start it there's no sign of the oil even when i don't start the engine in about 10-15 min its all gone there is no sign of it leaking anywhere but recently the oil was coming out of an overflow pipe which it isn't doing any more so any help u can give me will be very much appreciated

I am trying to find a new engine for my 1986 XT 600 Tenere. Have found one on ebay out of a 1997 XT600e. Does anyone know if this later model engine will fit?

Hi, i Posted another topic but i didn`t get any answers So i try one more time I am wondering if i can fit an YZ 125 front fork on my dt125x? (upside down forks) Is there antoher type of tail light to dt 125? like the dt 50 with leds? where can i get cheap Dep pipes? And wher can i get colored chain and sprockets? Hey folks, I love my bike, but I hate it's highway range! I was looking around and found that you can get a 13L tank for my bike but the only place I could find the part was in the UK and it was out of stock (http://www.customcruisers.com/Custom2005/customshop2005/contents/en-uk/d635.html). Anyone have any luck putting a bigger tank on this bike, because the 8L makes trips out to the Alberta Rockies a little challenging without strapping some extra gas to the bike. Cheers!
