Hi I have recently bought a dt125 re 06 reg, I have bought a big one full exhaust system for it, is there anything else I can do to increase power and how is it done? Also would love to put SM wheels on it, but seems quite expense, is there a cheaper option to do this? Been looking for second hand wheels but not had much : ( Any help or advice would be great! Jo

This bike has been a two year project. Bored to 71mm with a wiesco piston. Boyensen reeds. All new seal and gaskets. Polished the ports and head. Exhaust is clean. K&N air filter. Carb has been gone through. Here is the issue. In order to adjust the idle to maximum speed before adjusting the idle speed screw I have to turn the idle air screw at least three turns out. Has a miss up to about 4,000 and the it cleans up and runs strong. It just seems to be running rich based on the performance and the spark plug. Black sooty carbon. Running an NGK iridium plug. Any suggestions? Thx JR

I have just bought myself a Yamaha MT-03. I love it except it has a few intermittent problems. 1. It cuts out at some point during most journeys, usually when I am accelerating after slowing to under 15mph or when I am pulling away from a standstill. It is not just a case of me stalling the bike. 2. When riding, if I open the throttle fully nothing will happen or the engine will stutter, then it feels like I have suddenly been rear-ended. Again, this a few times happens on most journeys. 3. When riding with the throttle in the same position the bike keeps accelerating and decelerating by a couple of mph and will sometimes suddenly decelerate The bike is a…

Hey peeps I'm looking at another DT... Drawn like a moth to a flame, and anyway I have found one in need of a little tlc... But its an automatic with a chain drive, I was unaware this type of bike existed, how do you think it works? Some form of centrifugal clutch and variator I guess but how can they fit it within the cases?

Hi, I am a newbie member to the YOC with a recently aquired 1991 XJ900F. When I got the bike the speedo dial was very faded and the petrol gauge plastic cover had a crack in it so I bought a good used instrument set from an eBay seller. Rather than replace the complete speedometer unit which would of course have given an incorrect odometer reading I decided to take off just the needle to remove the faded dial, marking the back of the instrument as best I could to give the same MPH reading. Now I seem to be going a bit faster than the speedo suggests; could someone with the same bike check exactly what MPH they have in top gear for any given RPM? My first question…

Saturday last, I pulled full maintenance on the 650. 26,000 miles. Changed oil, Castrol 20-50 Power RS V–Twin 4T, new Fram filter, changed differential oil, cleaned K&N air filter, replaced fuel filter, tire air pressure check, drained remaining fuel (1/2 gallon) refueled with Plus fuel, added Marine formula Sta-Bil. Checked engine for signs or oil leaks. Found small amount near neutral safety switch, removed switch, cleaned area with brake cleaner, made thin gasket, used tiny amount of Permatex Red High Heat gasket maker, re-installed switch. Went to car wash, washed entire engine area with engine cleaner cycle, thoroughly washed rest of bike, wiped down, ro…
