Afternoon As you can see I'm new to this forum and also to geared bikes. I have an annoying rattle on my bike and was wondering if anyone knows what it could be. When I'm in a low gear i.e pulling away or slowing down and changing down the gears an annoying rattle starts, but when I start to pick up speed again the rattle stops. When I am going slow the rattle stops when the clutch is in and the revs are off. Any ideas? Thanks D

Won a bike on ebay. should be going to pick it up this weekend! Unfortunately not a yammy, AGAIN I love big singles, and kick starters (it would seem) So the bike is a 1990 Suzuki DR 650 RS. more of an adventure looking bike then the usual DR650. Main reason for another bike, is just the thought of taking my husky out on the gritted roads makes me want to cry, as does thinking about riding it a very far distance. Hopefully this should be just the ticket. What do you lot think? YES i know, it looks rather dated, but i'm not trying to look cool for the other bikers lol. i'll let the power rangers do their thing, and the big 12…

I not long ago agreed to buy a tidy little Honda CG 125 (hope no-one is offended ) and i have the cash burning a hole in my pocket. but the seller is adament that he will not release it until he has fixed the caburation and a minor electrical problem on it. He`s a friend and an all round good egg!!! but it`s killing me , this waiting!!!! it might only be a little CG125 but i feel like a kid waiting for his new toy???? i have plans for it this summer and i want to get it ready, but i am stuck here, twiddling my thumbs until i get the green light to collect it!!! is it just me or do we all feel like this with a new (old bike) machine to go in our collect…

Hi , My name is Mike Fifer . I am 55 years old and could not afford an RD when I was young. I have riden on and off for about 40 years now. I (in my youth days ) raced a Yamaha 125 MX , 250 MX , flat tracked the 250 and a BSA 500 Victor and ended with a S3 Kawasaki and a H1 Kawasaki Dragster. I now ride a Suzuki C50 to work (50 miles round trip) daily. I recently purchased a 1976 RD400. I have since done some work to it and this is the progress now. Thanks , Mike

Guys/Girls, I really want to buy some Vance and Hines Cruzers for my 2004 XVS650A Dragstar classic to get rid of the wet fart noise my stock pipes manage... but I dont seem to be able to find anywhere in the UK that has them in stock. I have to admit I'm also a little confused about which ones fit an 04 classic if I'm honest! :S Any help / advice would be great. Got a lot of help with my last question and it made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside! Cheers! Rich

As you may or may not have heard, road racing legend Robert Dunlop lost his life in a terrible accident at lastnights North West 200 practice. He was on his 250 with Darren burns following closely behind when his bike seized up entering the notorious Mathers Cross bend, Darren Durns could not avoid a collision and he hit Robert. He died later from chest injuries! Darren suffered a broken leg and concussion. This kind of tradgedy comes up every now and again in road racing and we all are aware of the risks, but when a rider is lost, itis felt all over the racing community! we offer our deepest sympathy for Roberts family and close friends. We may never see the lik…

Hi everyone I recently had a moment of clarity whilst unloading my recently aquired DT out of the back of my lpg converted kia... stako currently make a 7 litre lpg tank which is roughly the same size as a topbox, and i have also aquired a second DT for parts, but now I'm thinking, could I convert a DT to lpg? How would a two-stroke engine react to the change? As ever, any input appreciated -foamy

Hi all, Just joined the club and thought it polite to introduce myself to the members. Posted my background in my profile pages but in short, new rider from last year, currently riding XJ600S and loving all things bikes. Joined the club to learn & get new ideas - never joined anything like this before so should get the hang of it eventually. Looking forward to the ride... Silverfox.

Hi All I just thought I'd say hello. I just got a 98 FZS600, I actually bought it new and sold it onto a friend. He's had it laid up for a couple of years in his garage so when he said he wanted rid I bought it back. It's a lot worse for wear, my mate used it for commuting for a couple of years, didn't wash it at all I think in that time and then left it corroding to itself in the back of his garage for another two years. So far every little job is a big struggle against the demon corrosion. All visible fixings are just balls of rust, downpipes and collector are held together by rust, engine is practically bare furry aluminium, battery dead, tyres illegal and one vis…

well hi everyone, this is my first post. I own several Yamahas and have for years and, like everyone on this sight, I love them. here is a list of what I have: 1976 XS650 twin (basket case), 1978 XS650, 1979 XS650, 2X 1980 XS1100, 1982 XS850 triple, 1982 XS650 four (just got this one today), and a 1991 600 Radian. I do all my own work so any new info is much apreciated and I share ideas too. I design one-off parts like triple trees and frame mods but I like to restore too. I hope I can be of use for some of you guys who are trying to do it yourself too.

Hi there. Have been watching forum the last week while on holiday and seems very friendly, so here goes. I haven't been a biker for long (for my age), only twenty years and mainly 250's but as my lad was getting older and heavier I needed a bigger bike so chose a divvy 600 which takes us everywhere (we follow are local non-league football club) The reason I was looking at the forum last week was the bike wouldn't start. After buying and fitting a new solenoid it still wouldn't start so I bought and fitted a new starter relay and it still wouldn't start, so I started doing a continuity test and although it wasn't obvious at first the cable that runs from the starter but…
