Pal of mine has a 09 TDR 125 nice bike had a few owners worked fine..till last week... Then suddenly....won't go past 40.mph? I'm wondering if that Cat ( I think it has one in the exhaust has collapsed ?) If it was an early machine i'd just say it needed a decoke? it's done 9k and not been that well looked after. he's bringing over at the weekend and I'm supposed to be an appropriate expert...hah! Any help on where first to look much appreciated Apparently, it starts easily makes no nasty noises and runs well up to 40 mph...wont rev out in any gear. Many thanks bonnietiler

As a cret...novice when it comes to all things TDR..my last 2 stroke, a 1968 YDS5E back in 1972...yes I'm really THAT old! Could anybody guide me through the main reasons why I ought to wear stout walking boots and have a fully paid up road recovery membership in operation? Did the TDR have an achilles heel and are there any warning signs I ought to be aware of? Much thanks in anticipation of your recommendation that it'll be a fine trans continental tourer..ahem.. Cheers bonnietiler

LOL, Went out on the bike today, rolling down the dual carriageway in a world of my own at around 60 a car slows opposite as were braking for the roundabout. Out of the window the muppet in the passenger seat shouts.. quoting here... " Awww flat out, go get a proper bike i could go faster on a pushbike" 3 lads (heavy on the lads, barely out of school, if at all) in a crappy Renault something, could have been a Vauxhall. So round the roundabout and i stayed with them. I could have lost out if it had been a sporty something but there was a 'black box fitted' sticker in the back window (by daddy no doubt) so i pulled up behind em and stayed there.. 50, 60, lo…

Its a shame, the TDR forum used to be quite lively, as much as on here certainly. Post something and there would usually be some kind of comment within hours. Its tumbleweed town now, I posted about my wheels with questions and have had little or no comment. 12mths ago the screen would have gone spatty with people commenting, good bad or otherwise. Same ol names same as on here but now, nothing. Suppose its some kind of farcebook group, shame really. Lot of experience on there and it will be lost in facebook. Just be lost in the corporate blue.

Hello everyone. I'm new here and I have a problem with my son's bike. It's a TDR 125 1993 and starts fine and runs ok until the bike is actually moved forward. Now I have checked the sidestand switch with a multimeter and all is well. I have even bypassed it too. We have also changed the 2 relays under the seat as I believe they are too related to this switch, but the problem is still there. Has anyone else encountered this or could anyone shed any light on the problem for me ? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks, Gary.

Hi all new to site hopefully your put me right. Have had my TDR 5yrs have stripped the seized wreck and rebuilt whole bike past 3yrs. I now have it running sweet on premix on the bench. I took photos as stripped but cannot detect where vac to fuel cock pipe goes. Have done away with water supply for icing so these in/out let's are redundant. Cannot feel a suction on other port either left or right carb. Can anyone send a few snaps of their plumbing around the carbs. Thanks

Hi all, I need some help I want to get into the above forum but I've tried and failed over the last 3 weeks. Is it still operating? If so..... Can anyone put me in touch with a moderator or administrator to help me? the Board Administrator contact button just doesn't work. Cheers. In the meantime does anyone know if UK TDR 250 barrels & pistons are a direct fit onto a french TDR 240 bottom end? Or is the crank throw or something else a problem? How can a 240 be identified by its frame and engine numbers? Is there a significant difference in performance for the 240? Thanks all

My bike's been in the garage since it was recovered from the ratboys who stole it. It's had a new ignition barrel fitted and been rewired but I'm having a problem. When I turn the ignition on, everything lights up but the bike won't start, as though the engine cut off switch (that's the big red button Smitty ) is on, which it isn't. The mechanic's stumped and so am I. One thing I did notice is that the fuel light flashes a couple of times when it's switched on initially - is this some sort of diagnostic warning? Any help would be very much appreciated guys.
