Hi all, My bike has a faulty CDI unit which is causing total loss of power every time I go over any kind of bump so it needs replacing, but I've been looking around and I'm confused by models and dates. Mine is from 1995 so does this mean anything pre-2003 when the new shape was introduced will work? Also how likely is the new shape to work in my bike, is it specifically for post 2003 models, as the new one is much easier to obtain and much cheaper. Thanks!

My SR has developed a noticeable rattle in the engine, but I'm a bit of a bike retard so I don't know what it actually is, does this sound like a crankshaft bearing? Only thing I know is its a long job to fix so another question is if I have a problem with the bottom end how long is it safe to keep riding?

Hi, i was wondering if anyone knows what amp fuse a 1995 sr125 needs? I've got a manual, but it's for 97-03, and that says 20amps. The fuse I've got in mine is 15amps. What difference would this make? Also, the manual says there should be a thermo switch located next to the battery, but all I've got on mine is an empty plug with no switch. Cheers, Dave

Hi All Wondering if anyone can offer any suggestions re. a problem I'm having with my SR125? Out riding the other day I noticed that the indicators are acting odd. Sometimes there's a delay before they come on when the switch is pressed, and sometimes they start as normal but have odd pauses between the flashes every so often. All seems to work normally with just the electrics turned on, but with the engine running, even just standing in the garage, the odd random pausing starts again. I've checked the battery has plenty of charge, tried a new indicator relay and I've found nothing loose in the wiring (but haven't yet managed to trace the earth wire back into the …

Hi Everyone, Bought an old SR125 project that had been off the road. Long story short, it's just about having my life 😂 with not starting. It's got good compression, got fuel, got spark (possible issue) and everything else seems good. I have bare bone wired it, to cut out out the sidestand, neutral and relays but no difference. Bike cranks but won't catch, it gets spark but seems strong first fire then not so strong. Battery is good and new so ruled that out. Pick up coils are good. Soooo I keep coming back to the CDI unit but I they are like hen's teeth. Could the CDI be bad but still giving a spark. Anyone used an aftermarket CDI unit?

the Starter on my 1980 SR250G is so slow, I never know if it is going to start. Even with a new and charged battery it is a crap shoot if it is going to start. I've pulled the starter, lubed it, checked the brushes & comutator. Once running it is a fun bike for just putting around. Is this slowness normal? A little more on the bike. It sat outside for around 7 years on a friends back porch and he just gave it to me. The forks are pitted and probably going to need replacing as they'll take out the seals real fast Any info would be appreciated.

I was wondering if it would be possible to use the bottom end of the standard sr250 engine, and take the top end, bore and piston from a sr400 engine? Knowledge would be greatly appreciated!!! Thanks!

I am trying to find out if a Radian (86) top triple tree or the upper & lower as a unit will bolt up to an 86 SRX. If so will it retain same spacing for my front wheel? As you can probably figure out I want to install a standard handle bar and I don't want to drill holes in my stock triple tree to mount risers. Radian triple trees are available on ebay right now at reasonable prices. Unless someone on here has a Radian top triple they want to sell. Thanks,

Is anyone else going to this from the North West ..... Meeting a couple of mates at the Tickled Trout petrol station just off M6 Jn31 in the morning ... 9.30 departure ... if anyone fancies it ... look for a blue and white GSX1400 (I'll be wearing me famous pink leathers) and a grey BMW K1100 .... taking the GSX as the XJ is needing a rear tyre

Stall problem, can anybody tell me how to fix this. I have a 2-year old Fazer 600. Daily commute takes me five miles on local roads, then fifteen miles on motorway, then, after five or ten miles in London traffic it starts miss-firing, stalls and/or needs loads of revs to get away from lights. Have found that if i stop, turn off and restart, then the problem goes away, and the engine runs normally. But this doesn't happen every time.
