Got soaked to the bone today, I had almost forgotten about the rain with the decent summer we have had. It has got cold lately and it looks like winters on its way. I don't mind the cold but, the getting piss wet through annoys me. Better find my waterproofs.

I'd like some feedback here. The newest bike I've ever ridden was my 1993 FJ1200. The oldest bike I've ever seriously ridden was a 1938 AJS. I spent years on a model 18-and showed some much more powerful bikes the way around!!! Had a Z1 Kwakka for a while. Ducati 750. Gold Wing. Lots of bikes. Even a James 197cc two stroke! I've just been looking at the comments on the new R1. My question is this: If I got on one of them, how much difference would I actually feel (as compared to say my current XJ900)? Would I be blown away by the performance? Handling? What? I was impressed by the FJ1200 but didn't feel it was a whole world ahead of my older bikes. I'm not s…

Been running my new engine in now strictly adhering the manufacturers instructions. It basically says only use a third of the throttle for the first 300 miles then increase to half a throttle until you reach 500 miles after which you can ride as normal. I have been reading online about different methods and it comes down to the 'ride it like you stole it' method, which means ride it as you normally would (in my case) or the recommended by the manufacturers 'nice and easy' don't accelerate hard or use more than a third/half of the throttle. I am now up to 300 miles and have had enough of pretending to be a Honda Melody. I'm just going to ride my bike as normal. Accord…

  5. Hey folks! Just wanted to mention that the Market Tavern in Stroud town centre, Gloucestershire is a biker friendly pub! The owner is a biker and the barman is a biker!! Anyway as summer is coming and many people will be out on their bikes!! they cater for any occasion and more importantly welcome anyone who favors 2 wheels over 4! It is an up-market pub with a well sized beer garden that has parking for up to about 30 bikes (I think!!) You could even park outside the front of the pub if you wanted to, However it does get busy from about 9am-2pm on a Saturday. A fantastic stop off point for anyone who wants some good English pub grub! They have rather distu…

Anybody have ideas about how to "restore" or replace theses lights? They are currently of the original type and whilst the lenses, bulbs and fittings are fine the "plastic" chrome surround and rubber seals are a bit tatty.

Hi All, Just wondered if anybody would know what REAR RACK would fit my old XJ750,(the originals are as rare as rocking horse s**t) for instance would the rack from a Diversion model fit the pre diversion frame, I was offered a pair of panniers and rear rack from a diversion model but not to sure if they would even be a close enough fit to adapt to my bike. If you happen to know or just want to throw out a wild guess then please feel free to get in touch. I'm not to sure what the difference between the pre diversion and diversion models are so if you happen to know of anything else that will fit let me know. Thanks. Martin.
