  4. hi guys, im getting an Rd125lc ypvs i love the bike and am going to ride it when I'm 17, faster than any other modern 125! The bike goes well in a straight line but doesn't have great brakes, tyres or forks, so i thought can you put the forks and wheels off a modern Aprilia Rs 125 and also brembo calipers and disks! thank you any help would be appreciated!

I'll be starting work on my 1981 RD200 soon after Christmas and it hasn't been started since around 1990. Has anyone any top tips for getting it to start without damaging anything? The only engine prep so far has been to drop half a capful of Marvel Mystery Oil into the cylinders to free the rings. The insides of the fuel tank were atrocious. The fuel hadn't been drained and there was a lot of rust in there. The tank was filled with white vinegar and left for 10 days and now its looking pretty clean and no leaks, but the first start will be using a portable tank. The bike was garaged and is in pretty good condition, accept for some light rusting in a few places …

Hi I'm looking for some advice re. my 1987 RD350 YPVS F2. Before the worst of the weather hit us, I cleaned the bike down, oiled it, greased it, and dowsed in corrosion protector. But now, just a couple of weeks later, it starts (just) and then begins to make 'fart' noises from the left cylinder. After 30 seconds or so, dirty smoke comes out the left exhaust. Then it lets rip with an almighty backfire, accompanied by a small flame out the back. Then cuts out. I have checked the plugs are ok and clean. The compression seems fine, as with plugs out I can feel good pressure when the engine is turned. I've had the exhaust off to make sure there are no big car…

anyway , after a long time in my brother in laws garage the tank and panels have finally come home , It started with the seat holding water in the dimples, wet arse , so had to be re covered, here's the old one. so I started to remove the staples with a selection of tools , screw driver pin nose pliers pretty easy job, if you have pets keep your staples in one place or your pet will find them then get yourself one of these for £30, put the front on first then pull it over the back and make sure it's kinda lined up, put three staples in the front once you have the piped edge in place then repeat at the back, then start to staple …

Although I`m a stickler for original..couldn`t take it anymore and decided to get the RD going faster (I need this bike to do power wheelies). I`m told jetting does not have to be changed so just gonna bolt them on and see how she goes. These are locally made Bosson exhausts..made just 12km from my house. They reckon 20-30% more power.

After rebuilding my stock standard Elsie I was a little disappointed it just won`t power wheelie thru the powerband no matter how much I ring its neck. Not comfortable with it as I prefer doing power wheelies (find them easier to control), but thought I would try slip the clutch in first to see what happens. WHOAAA..must say it surprized me how quick she reared up. Need sum more practice...
