Hi just a quick question.............have a racefit growler exhaust on my R6, i want to get rid of the standard headers/cat for some after market ones, would i have to have her dyno'd or would she run ok with out????? Thanks

What's going on everybody? I just bought a 2002 YZF-600R. It has an R6 tail conversion on it. I was just wondering if they made an R6-esque headlight for my bike. I don't mind just having the single lamp, but I just love the design of the front fairings on an R6 with the dual-lamps. Thanks in advance.

I use my R6 for work everyday. Some of my shifts demand a 4:30am departure. I am aware that one should always warm up the engine before setting off, but what's a decent temp to aim for? (a colleague has advised me that he once fatally damaged an R6 because he failed to warm it up and it's high rev nature caused an engine crack)! Any other winter riding advice also welcome.

I have just bought a V(99) R6 - I am having probs getting insurance - mainly because I am 5 weeks of my 18th and only got my full bike licence 4 weeks ago - was on a 50 moped and then a 125. Can someone reccomend an Insurance Co. Thank you

I have spent some time on the net looking for a set of covers to cover the space left when removing the passenger foot pegs but can't seem to find them anywhere. They are for a 2008 graphite grey R6. Can anyone point me in the right direction?? Thanks

Hello guys and gals! This is all very new to me, im a complete internet virgin, can u believe it at the age of 28! Anyway, im thinking about fitting a Dyno-jet Power Commander to my beautiful baby. Shes a 2005 YZF R6, i know they are easily fitted and i could prob do it myself. However is the cost of this actually worth the better prefomance? Now im no track racer, but i do like a squeeze round the bends.........the bottom line is, is it worth the money?????

Hi everyone a bit of advice needed on my beloved R6. I was takin my r6 to the m.o.t centre last week had been riding about 5 miles when I lost power had to drop down the gears to keep the power on and everytime I opened the throttle she was very sluggish and then started backfiring I came to the bottom of the road and she just died on me I pushed the starter button and had to keep the revs up as she wouldn't run idle she just kept cutting out. She had been sitting over the winter with a little petrol in her but just when I left home I needed petrol and filled her up she ran perfectly for approx 5 miles then the problems started even now she starts up fine and runs idle fo…

Im really interested to know if anybody has seen a woven fibreglass race seat with brake lights, its for a 2005 R6. i dont know if they even exist, i want to get a more sportier back end for road use, im more than willing to sacrifice the origional seat pad and replace it with foam, like a race seat. if anybody has seen one and it would be amazing if u know where to get one, please, please let me know! Arfternoon folks, I'm having a bit of trouble getting booked in for my test. Some schools want me to sit 15 lessons before my test, some expect me to do 5 lessons on a 125 after my CBT. I've ridden bikes before (motorcross) so 15 lessons is a bit overkill. I've found a local guy who will do me hour lessons on a 500+ bike. Now, would be able to have a restrictor kit fitted to my R6 and use that on the road (since I now have my CBT) and use it on my test (not the most sensible choice but this guy is a one man band so is very hard to get a test time on his bike). Hi guys, found this forum by accident and it looks great! I had my beloved 1999 R6 stolen in November from the Derby area, the thieving scumbags took it in the middle of the night from outside the house!!!! the police had a report that it was being ridden in Leicester 4 days later, but did nothing about it until the following weekend (11 days later) by which time the bike had disappeared. Does anyone know where I could get a replacement tail peice for my 2000 R6? I'm wanting to replace the original with the LED unit from the later (2000 - 2002) version.

I am a bit confused by the R6 running temperatures. It tends to settle around 70c on a run during a cold morning. If I let my beauty reach 80 or 90c idling in traffic, it tends to stay there on a run. The fan comes alive at 100c, commonly at lights or during traffic. How does this beast operate?

Is anyone experiencing tickover problems with their R6. My bike will idle okay but after a run of 10-15 miles it will try to stall. I have cleaned the fuel filters, replaced plugs-oil-air/oil filters, cleaned the fast idle mechanism which appears to be operating correctly. Has anyone got any more ideas for me to try?
