Did the service with Tony yesterday, and it all went swimmimgly apart from Tony busting a couple of the quick release plastic clip things and me sulking at his suggestion of replacing them with similar items from the local car shop aaaaaaaaaaagh . Just the thought drives me wild, so another 20 mile trip for 2 clips worth 85p each I suppose you cant put a price on peace of mind. ( god I sound sad, But if a jobs worth doing........) Anyway its done. I went for a quick blast to Squires which is about 2 miles from my house. I didnt let the clutch warm up enough before grabbing a handfull and it wasnt happy about going into gear a couple of times but once it was warm and marin…

Hi people im new to yamaha's and this site. my problem is ive just bought a mint 98 r1 in red and white but i think its vibrating more than it should. do r1's vibrate. also its got quite a loud squeeling noise around 7000rpm.ive just had the carbs balanced and changed the chain and sprockets. im used to vtwins so it might be just me.

Having probs trying to unstick my r1 clutch. Ive tried getting the engine hot,putting in 3rd gear and rocking with the clutch in,but it refuses to budge. (my fault as its been stored for a year) presume ill have to strip it down,clean the plates and refit.Not being mechanical minded,wondered any problems doing this. Any tips would be gratefully received about doing this job.(how long will it take approx) Cheers howard

Hi Guys This is probably a complete waste of time cos the bike is either in bits or on a boat to another country but............. ..........hubby has had his R1 stolen from SE London whilst visiting family. Very unusual and customised. Has a high level MIG exhaust, blue white and grey spray job, modified rear end which exposed the undertray and with built in indicators and tail tidy. On a Y plate (2001) If anyone hears anything please could you let us know.............worth a try. Cheer Guys Boova

Hi every1. Ime a new member on the forum and hope to get stuck in with all the discussions. I dont currently own a bike tho i use to own a 1998 yamaha r1. I loved every minute i was on it but sold it and went down the path of fast cars. Soon realising to get bike performance you need to spend stupid amounts of money!! Even then nothing was a much fun as my old r1. Ime looking to buy another r1 but one thats bin turbo charged. I would love to here from any of you guys who have exsperienced a r1 turbo and could give me there apinions on whether or not this is a good buy or should i say wise purchase? Many thanks jay

how easy is this convirsion? what parts etc will i need, i dont want to buy the capliers and then need loads of other bits for them to fit! what disks can i use? will the standard ones be ok? if so is it possible to get wavy disks for this model of bike? thanx for any advice, ps pictures would be nice martyn

Hi All, does anyone else out there find there front forks really soft? I have recently bought brand new r125 for cheap mpg and to get back into bikes and the forks seem very soft, makes it heavy on the wrists after a while, owned an Rg125 and a Cagiva Mito years ago, new 125's just dont compare!

hi i am new member of this group and a proud owner of Yamaha R15 i have a few question to ask from all u guys if u can help me out with it. i bought the bike a year ago and did my running in completely at a watchful speed of 60 Km/hr. now recently i am finding that my bikes is lacking that grunt in its pickup compared to other R15 of my friends some say that the engine is responding this way because of running in done at under 60 Km/hr? please help me out with this doubt of mine and i would be highly obliged thanks in anticipation
