Hi all, just a few words of warning to anyone to anyone planning to ride/tour in the South of Ireland. earlier this year we were in Donegal, great weather, good dry conditions ,very low traffic volumes on the road, ideal motorcycling roads, with one drawback, On our way back to Greencastle to catch the ferry back to the North, the lead bike in our group lost control on a gentle downhill right hander. This was entirely due to the road surface, which was covered in what looked like quarry dust, loose stones,(that had been spilled from lorries using the road from a nearby construction site) there was no warning of any kind of this danger on an otherwise good road. to cut …

Hello people, getting a new XT660R tomorrow, probably the 25th+ bike, Ive had over the last 25+ years Ive been riding. Had all sorts, will use it every day for commuting and having a blast in the Dales (Yorkshire, UK). Ride all year round in all weathers, one of my first was a DT 175 stroker, loved the thing hope I enjoy the XT as much. Also had diversion 900, fazer 1000, suzukies, hondas (have also a cb1300 currently), kwakas, harleys, aprillias, could say im a bit of a bike nut, oil in my veins dont you know. Absolutely love the smell of 2 stroke, and hot engines. New to the forum so this is really an introduction to say hello to like minded bikers of all ages. …

A married couple was sitting in a fine restaurant when the wife looks over at a nearby table and sees a man in a drunken stupor. The husband asks, "I notice you've been watching that man for some time now. Do you know him?" "Yes" she replies, "He's my ex-husband, and has been drinking like that since I left him seven years ago." "That's remarkable" her husband replies, "I wouldn't think anybody could celebrate that long."

The lawyer and the duck A big city lawyer went duck hunting in rural Wales. He shot and dropped a bird, but it fell into a farmer's field on the other side of a fence. As the lawyer climbed over the fence, an elderly farmer drove up on his tractor and asked him what he was doing. The litigator responded, "I shot a duck and it fell in this field, and now I'm going to retrieve it." The old farmer replied, "This is my property, and you are not coming over here." The indignant lawyer said, "I am one of the best trial attorneys in the United Kingdom and, if you don't let me get that duck, I'll sue you and take everything The ol…

Hi, As I said in my introduction,I am soon to be a learner, and quite like the XVS Dragstar,it was what brought me to Yamaha(love v-twins). What I would like to ask of you more experienced folk here, any oppinions on the XVS 125,is it a worthwhile first bike and if I may ask, what weak points do they have, something I should look for when buying? I have a friend with a Thundercat, who promises to help me with the buying, but this style of bike is different to his,is there any real difference apart from the obvious engine and style?

Hey all, Just pick up my first bike yesterday, Yamaha YZF-R6. Its on a 02 plate with just over 10,000miles on the clock. The bike is in great condition, very clean & tidy. Has been lowered with upgraded adjustable forks, full Yamaha service history & a full tank. I paid £2,650 for it, which I thought was really good, what you think? Just have a few questions really. I am looking for a aftermarket can, any ideas which is a good one, dont want anything too loud, nice rumble tbh. Also, it is an import so the odo is in km/h is there a way I can change it to mph. Heard someone say that you can send it off to get it changed over, is that true? …
