  3. My Lords, Ladies and Gentlemen of the Y-O-C The honour has been bestowed upon me* to let you know that one of our distinguished gentry has set up his own forum, Pilningas (Mervin) has taken the plunge to provide a site for the XJ6 and new Diversion models, with a more British and Euro slant to it. Mervin did try to get a TV celebrity to make the announcement but he said :Quote "Eh, No" so, it is with great trombosity and vernacular inadequacy that I'm proud to make this announcement, raise your reading glasses to a new venture, and be upstanding The site is here http://yamahaxj6.proboards.com/index.cgi and the very best…

Not sure if this has been posted already, but looks like Yamaha are developing a tourer based on the MT09 http://canadamotoguide.com/2014/08/13/yamaha-set-to-unveil-touring-version-of-fz-09/

Hi guys, thought I'd introduce myself before I start posting questions ... Name's Pete, 25 in Leicester and just got myself a tidy Thundercat to replace my tired 1200 Bandit as workhorse/commuter/winter bike. It's my first Yam, with previous rides being MT50, NS125R, GS500, SV650S, 1200 Bandit and current "fair weather only" RSV1000. And I don't drive

  9. Hi! I'm the proud new owner of a 2008 Yamaha FZ1 Fazer. Ocean Depths. I'm a Kawasaki boy from way back, so it all feels a little weird, to say the least. Instead of going into a long introduction here, I'll just include a couple of links to my blog, where I post regularly about motorcycles (and various other topics): My new hobby Loyal Kawasaki Rider Defects to Yamaha Feel free to leave any comments here on the blog itself. Looking forward to getting to know the other side... Andrew

Hello All!! I just bought my second bike at the age of 60 so I'm learning everthing anew. I'm also a complete computer luddite so apologies in advance for delayed replies as I've had these typing fingers for sixty years and I can't do a thing with them! By the by, are you all Brits here? I think I qualify, as the first time I "rode" a motorbike was sitting on the gastank of my grandfather's BSA in Fermangh,NI in the 1950's. Very fond memories, indeed. I don't quite understand how a group of Brit gearheads can be so witty- I'm constantly laughing at the repartee. All the best, and apologies for my Trimph riding brother in New York!!

Just traded my Z400 for a TTR250 about a month ago. Been looking for a place to find info and the like concerning my bike. A friend suggested I seek out a forum and here I am. Main thing I'm looking for is help on finding accessories and parts for my machine...at reasonable or lets face it, cheap prices. Of course a new pipe and some bars are in order first thing, and later on when I actually have some wear and tear then I hope to find it helpful for that too.

  13. Hi all, quite new to the forum, although i have spent a lot of time reading various bike related topics on this forum, its my first time creating a thread so if its all wrong apoligies inadvance & would be grateful if someone could point me in the right direction (iphone seems alot more fiddly to use than a laptop). Now for the problem im having - I have a '91 dtr 125 that smokes like a trooper when cold, i mean thick smoke, when warm the engine is mint, sounds nice, runs nice, fast and no smoke, just when its cold it smokes bad, id say from stone cold it starts 2/3 kicks with choke and throws out thick smoke for around 3 mins max, when i blip the throttle the s…

Having added replies to a few posts already, I then noticed a post regarding new members who don't introduce themselves. Luckily, I haven't had any problems or needed any advice, so I hope I'll be forgiven for my little oversight. So, with that out of the way, HELLO to everyone on here and a Very Happy New Year. I've been riding bikes now for over 35 years, starting with a FS1E and ending up for the last 24 years with FJ1200's (amongst many others) - My wife also rides a Yamaha, a Fazer 1000 (as well as her VF 750). My favourite biking hobbies are:- 1) the Nurburgring (done too many laps to count - or think about the cost of); 2) touring Europe with Liz and…

Just bought a YZ85 2002 two-strke for my g-friend and a wr450x for myself . I'm an avid mt biker ... actually help run mtbr.com and their forums. Thought I'd introduce myself and get started before I *really* get started I don't know why we ended up with Yamahas. I was looking at the Hondas but came across the perfect 2-stroke and great CA financing in Burlingame, CA, USA. I hope it all works out.

I'm new here, just had a quick look around and decided to join to get some info before i go ahead and buy a bike. I drive a mini at the moment: But i'm after a bike as well so i don't end up spending all my money on my car Plus something to get to work on that doesn't use as much fuel and will be fun in the summer. Been sent in the direction of a DT125 SM, but i really don't no anything about them. Any info would be great, things to look out for etc. Not looking to get a bike license for the moment so just a 125 i can run with a provisional.
