  2. Well peeps, the XJ is now sporting a custom made bottom suspension link, non-leaky fork seals and a new back tyre and my finest wiring repairs (no twisted wires and insulation tape here!). it is absolutely beautiful motorcycle weather over here, but alas no doubt when the bike has been MOT'd all the weather will turn crappy and i will be confined to the lumbering 20mpg Kia for the rest of the year

Hi, Thanks to a lot of you I have been able to sort out a few problems with my 1982 DT125 LC. Today I'm going to try to get it running, is there anything I need to do before I attempt to get it running? I know I need to bleed the oil pump but that's it really. Also they are designed to mix the 2 stroke oil and the fuel separately, but would I just be able to pre mix it and put it straight into the fuel tank? Thanks, Ollie.

Hello, My husbands father passed away 15 years ago and used to own a restoration company. We have been trying to track down one of his bikes or cars for years. Recently, through making some great contacts at the DMV I got someone to look up his fathers name and she was able to tell me a VIN number on a 1971 Yamaha he used to own. She said it was : R5037137 Could anyone help me decode this VIN to learn more about it? Thanks so much!

Hi - i'm after replacement front tyre on TDM850 labelled Pirelli Strada 110/80 ZRM18 (58w). I found similar on Oponeo.co.uk for £69 which seems pretty good. Only thing they quote R18 instead of ZRM18. According to thier site its a 'w' rated tyre which is good for 168mph so no worries there! Anyone know what the difference might be?? cheers!

  12. Hi all In your experience, what would be the best way (kit?) to connect a smartphone to a bike's battery so as to charge it (the phone that is)? Thanks in advance.

Ive had this bike nearly two years. A couple of weeks ago the piston rings broke in it. Replaced the piston, rings and gaskets and cleaned the barrel out which hadnt been damaged. yesterday took her out to make sure she was running right and kept the revs and speed down for about 30 miles to get her run in, then reved her up and when she hit 8 thousand rpm she stalled herself but kept rolling. she started easily and away she went a while later she went over 8rpm but stalled again when she dropped back under 8thousand. she started again easily and when she hit 9 and a half thousand rpm i slacked off the throttle and she stalled and locked the back wheel throwing the back e…

I have a 1974 dt 175, but the key it came with was not the original, which works the ignition switch, but not the petrol cap or the steering lock, all of which have the same number stamped into them, so I presume one key did the lot. It would be good to have such a key, if only for the steering lock. But is it possible to get such a key cut from the number stamped on the locks and switch?

I don't know if anyone else has come across anywhere that does this or has any advice in general but here goes. I'm building a DT125R up from the ground. I've got almost all parts now and will be starting the build as soon as my logbook for the frame comes through. I've bought full new plastic set with new sticker kit. The sticker kit doesnt include the stickers for the tank that matches/meets the ones on the rad scoops. I'm going to be re spraying the tank and will want new stickers. Does anyone know what my best line of action is? Is there anywhere that would be able to get the stickers. I'll say, I have yet to try yamaha as i think they only would have part …

I've been thinking once I get my full licence would I really need a 1200cc bike? Some of the two stroke 125's are capable of 100m.p.h. I imagine if I got a 500cc or 600cc it would be powerful and fast enough for my needs. What is the difference if any for example a 600cc and a 1000cc. I know the sizes are bigger but is it really noticable and can you feel a lot of difference?

Since getting my bike straight away I noticed the large amount of unwanted attention it creates. Every single time I venture out I get kids, adults, chavs, idiots and other various people I do not wish to engage with more or less harassing me. Mostly its just people asking me questions about it, which I don't mind, but yesterday some guy offered to buy my bike off me for £1000, I told him it's not for sale but he carried on and on, the retard said to me he bought the exact same model and year bike as mine for £300 a few weeks ago and that I was lucky to be offered a £1k and should take it. I paid £1300 for my bike and have pumped hundreds into it already. I value it at £1…
