    Hey lads , now that I ve the bike bought need to start looking at gear ,preferable summer gear , need advice tho ,bought a dragstar 1100 ,which is better leather or textile ,and looking for a flip face or modular helmet all advice will be heeded

    Hello all, might sound stupid to a lot you out there, but i'm having trouble knowing what gear i'm in. I drive a dragstar 650 '89 (my first bike, never driven one before!), and i'm constantly trying to remember what gear i'm in. don't seem to hear it... so lots of time, i just go up to 5th, then come down to whatever i need to be in. I saw these gear indicators on the web, but that seems to be only for bikes with electronic speed indicator. Any advice? thanks

    Hi Everyone my Son has just bought his first bike at the age of 20 yrs old. Me being his Dad at 45yrs old. We both did our CBT last Sunday and both have no experience. What we have both noticed that when changing up a gear we are both finding it hard to get our boots under the gear lever. So I removed the lever and moved up as little as I could, but now the lever is marking the engine. Can we buy a new lever that sticks out a little more than the original to stop it marking the engine ? Hope this makes sense to somebody. Cheers new rider Steve

    Hi All Just got a YZF which i love but on the motorway the gear lever pivot bolt fell out! Not impressed had to ride back in sixth. Which is the correct bolt and how do i stop this happenning again?

    got 2000 R6 with 21 k on it. ive notice a few times that changing from 1 to 2nd when im just chillin it wont go in. dont get it when im givin it some,so is it me or is something startin to go on bike?

    I'm new here but I just rebuilt my 77 DT400. New wiseco piston, boyeson reeds, new mikuni 34mm carb, penton ignition. my shop tells me there are a couple 'tricks' to assembling the crank case so it works properly. I have three manuals to work from...didn't see anything out of the ordinary. this is my first bike rebuild. I assembled it in neutral and now it is 'stuck' in neutral...it runs but won't go in gear. should it have been assembled with the 1st gear cogs engaged? the shift cam slid the forks okay in halves. what did I miss???? mrcbody

    I'm not very good at changing all these oils, I'm just making sure that under the kick start (ON A 2 STROKE) there is a little plug sorta thing, do I put gearbox oil in there?

    Hi Again Had my YBR 125 a couple of weeks now.When its warmed up changing down the gears is very tight and sometimes goes solid. Is this because its new. have done abour 300 miles. Any suggestions happily revieved. Alan

    Hi guys & gals (if there are any) Wonder if any one can shed any light on this I bought my bike a month or to ago but Over the last few weeks my gears have become very stiff and hard to change, clutch is fine, chain oiled and adjusted correctly, could this be bad oil or possibly something worse? Any help greatly appreciated

    Hi All, the WET battery on my 1995 Virago xv1100 has given up the ghost. Has anyone used or is using a GEL battery on the same age bike as mine? Does any body know if a GEL battery is suitable for my age bike (something about the charging rate). Regards Tony.

    Having spent 4 1/2 hours riding this afternoon with only a 5 minute petrol stop my buttocks are complaining vociferously. Do any of you lot use a gel seat and if so did it make an appreciable difference to your comfort.     So, as I've mentioned in my intro I'm looking to grab me a 125 Dragstar soon as I have enough money for it, insurance and a helmet and the CBT. Just wandered if there is any advice people might give on this? I'll give a little explanation. I've a good idea of the basics of how to ride a bike but I guess experience is always the way forward.     Hi Im Jordan , been on here a few months now ! but still fairly new to biking ..... and sad to say it had my fair share of problems ! I've done allot of work myself and after a whole lot of time , money and graft its finally running ( and road legal ) ! However, I think its firing too early , there's a weird noise coming from the engine ( almost like a rattling noise ) this happens stationary and in neutral so im sure its not chain or gear box etc .... also the performance is piss poor !     I wondered if anyone else had been having problems with the generator cover on the XV950. I have two problems: 1. It is plastic and the slightest touch by my boot rubs off the paint! 2. It is plastic and the heat / cold has warped it out of shape! Anyone else had similar trouble? I have bought a new one for £28 and will put some clear plastic on it to protect the paint - but that won't stop the warping! Is there an after market aluminium one out there? Thanks Mike
