RIGHT. just bought a 1990 fzr400 3JT, its a stunner but I'd love it if it screamed a little more, any suggestions for replacement end cans? I've seen the old microns look nice but tracking them down isnt easy. especially when your 6 months off being old enough to make an ebay account!!!

I have a project 1987 (D) FZR400 that I would like to put modern rubber on. Anyone Know which 17"" rear wheel will fit, either straight in or with the minimum of fuss. Failing that whats the stickiest 18" rubber I can get?

hi there all,does any yamaha owner know where i can lay my hands on an ignition switch with keys for a 1990 XZR400 IWG it has to have three cable connectors one red one white and one green with two leads in each, all the ones i have found so far only have two connecting leads but the one i have on there at the moment has three i need to replace it because somewhere in its past life the ignition key seemed to have been a screwdriver ,or anything with a flat end, so its easy to start and ride off with. not good.. anyone out there got any ideas?

hi there all does anyone know if the yamaha fzr400 was fitted with a centre stand as mine has only got a side stand. an i cant find anywhere any mention of a main stand, i would appreciate a reply from anyone who knows regards to all bukko0

Hi, i went out to the garage the other day to finish up my project bike, bleed the brakes and what not, which is when i found that my rear Calliper was completely seized on the FZR. I either need to know what Calliper will fit on it (its an L reg bike) Or need to know if anyone is selling a like for like replacement? I'd like to be able to put an R6 brake on it, but don't know whether it will fit.. It has a lot more power than it would of as standard so yeah want to update it but not worried if i can't. HI FOLKS - ITS ME AGAIN!! STILL USING MY FZR EVERYDAY AND LOVING IT! BUT ANOTHER NEW PROBLEM HAS RAISED ITS HEAD AND I'M SEEKING HELP FROM YOU EXPERTS. I GOT MY BIKE IN MAY, AND PUT A NEW BATTERY IN IT COS IT HAD SAT FOR 2 YEARS IN A GARAGE. BUT FOR THE SECOND TIME SINCE THEN, BATTERY HAS COMPLETELY DRAINED, INCLUDING DRYING THE CELLS. hi all does anybody know what shock i can fit to my bike ie other makes and models I have jest refurbed the forks only to realise how bad the rear shock is when i went for my first ride at the moment a cant find anything under £250 so thought i may go second hand

Hello, im karl, i have recently purchased an fzr 600 genesis 1988. 3HH its history as far as i know is, its been sat in a friends garden undercover for the last 7 years. when he last used it, it had a carb problem but it still run, he stoped using it as he needed a car, i managed to get it for a 100quid, but it needs a complete rebuild, i have been told its an american import because its 3HH. I dont know much about bikes at all, so im hoping by posting my rebuild on here i will get plenty of support from people who know there stuff. here are some pics of the bike.

Hi all I finally got round to finishing of my FZR600 genesis, I bought it last year for £660.00 of evil bay, full service history with 31k on , required new fork seals and new bearings for sprocket carrier and rear wheel as they were shot,did a oil change, filters,coolant ,oh and a new rear tyre the rest of the bike was ok ,apart from it had been coated in wd40 which is fine for protection but when it been left on for a year or 2 everywhere was sticky and a sod to clean off, so after a couple of washes with stardrops great for cleaning has it contain no salt unlike your fairy liquid then a good polish ,all in all i have spent around another £150.00 so for under £800.00…

Hi All, I have just bought a 1990 FZR 600 Genesis , and not had a Yamaha before, and have a few questions : Is there a difference between the FZR600 and the Genesis ? are parts interchangeable ? The bike had a crash (with my nephew on it) which smashed the full fairing / screen /Clocks etc, is there any particular place I can get replacements? Everything else on the bike is fine, is there any peculiarities or endemic problems that I should watch out for ? Tks Anthony

Hi Folks, I own a '92 3HE FZR600 Genesis (tho its says 1994 on V5 doc), which I use daily and enjoy. But wanted opinions from other owners. My bike really doesnt seem to like pulling away too well when below 3000 rpm and I find myself dropping gears to overtake people. Bike pulls well through the range apart from that. Is this normal - or should I be worried?!?!?!?! Also on the lookout for an exhaust and engine casings ( to replace minor damage caused by previous owners ) if anyone has anything out there for sale! :-) Looking forward to hearing from other owners!

I'm having serious problems with my little Gen'. After spending the last year SORN after the master cylinder went (and i acquired the speed triple ) I sent her off to a local fixer to get put right. During her time of inactivity some running problems occurred so I asked for this to be sorted aswell. I finally got her back this week sporting a new battery, new carbs, new jets, a request to remove my nice little race can as the setup required some back pressure and a clean bill of health. All was rosy in my world.....until i came to use her for the 3rd time and nothing. The starter motor was spinning nice and freely, the fuel pump whizzing away and the exhaust honked of f…

Just acquired a 1994 FZR600R in what I think is referred to as Cocktail white. The top of the tank is purple and then there is a grean stripe and then pearl white. There are a couple of scratches on the purple bit of the tank. Any idea where I can get touch up paint from at a sensible price as trying to clean this up on a low budget!! Cheers all

Hello i have recently bought a fzs 600 on a t reg i need a few spare parts any websites you recoment to get parts from? also i have found my spedo does not work on the bike all other dials work apart from spedo just wondering if these bikes suffer with this or what should i check first thanks chris

Hi there, Just wondering if anyone knows the answer to this question. I have a 2001/ 02 Fazer FZS 600, will the brake discs of a 2006 Fazer fit and work on a 2001/ 02 Fazer. Just looking around at some of the prices and there seems to be some good deals on 2006 discs. Thanks in advance for any help. Dave

Discovered last week that my exhaust had developed a slight leak at one of the small pipes on the bottom right. Attempted to seal it with Radweld which was a glorious failure. It really needs brazing but finding and then getting the work done by a radiator repairer would cost money including the cost of getting the radiator to the shop and it's return. Other options considered included a second hand radiator from ebay or a breaker but the same problem remains. These radiators are about 8 - 10 years old and may be in no better nick than the one I already have so possibly a pointless exercise. Hi out there, I'm looking for a speedo sensor for my fzs 600 and there are none on eBay. Fowlers are looking for £120 for a new one but that goes against the grain. Does anyone know whether I can use a similar item from another Yamaha model as there are a few on eBay which look like they could fit although in some cases the wiring looks rather short? Jsu taken delivery of a brand new FZS, first bike in 25 years! Absolutely awesome - BUT. I am 6' 3" and am surprise by the buffeting from the wind at anything over 80. Anyone tried an alternative to the standard screen and if so what do you think of it? I notice there is a factory aftermarket screen with the curvy top (whats the proper name for it) does it do the biz as far as wind is concerned?
