Hi folks, Hopefully you guys can help..... My DT125R barn find has NO wiring loom at all, so rather than buy one i'm keen to rebuild one from scratch so that i know how to do it / no breaks in the loom etc. Can anyone provide any guidance such as what gauge wire (5amp / 8amp etc) and what colors i will need? Im totally useless at wiring diagrams as the one in the haynes manuals looks like total jibberish, so if anyone has a simple guide for wiring up the CDI / Rectifier / ignition / lights. Hopefully thats not too painful, but i would really appreciate any help!. Thanks everyone.

My dragstar 125, is making a lot of sounds when hot. Im running 10w-40 motul 300v double ester oil, its the correct amount. It pulls fine and runs great, apart from a few noises. First, is the bottom end somewhere, like two logs knocking together, constant in line with rpm, its nearly at 13000 miles, dunno weather its in KM or miles. Obviously that can be heard better at idle. The cam and chains, are ticking like 24 sewing machines all in one. Im scared to death the bottom end bearings/rod bearings are going, or I have piston slap. Around a rounabout I heard something clunk around and then stop, this didnt start the noises, and bike was fine after, ho…

Its seems to me that when ever we go for a ride and stop for a chat we alway's end up laughing about that near miss !!!! The best funniest story has gotta be my 1st crash !! At the time I was living in Redhill and working in Guildford, I'd not passed my full test, was on my NSR 125 and thought I was Joey Dunlop ! A friend of mine had told me a few day's before " Your not a real rider until you've had your 1st crash " Red rag to a bull !! On the way to work on a nice and wet A25 I found myself riding over every white line, man hole and pile of crap I could find. Then just when I was not expecting it, Out jumps a member of surrey's wild life. On c…

Done the deal today to chop the XJ6 in for an FZ1. Nearly new with a few handy mods. Will be sad to see the XJ6 go, but as I have no car now, wanted a bike that was a tiny bit more fun. Had a ball-ache with the insurance, when I renewed the XJ6 I put the panniers and hugger as mods: the result of which means the underwriter wouldn't cover the FZ1. Had to cancel and go elsewhere, money down the drain. The best bit was both the old and new companies told me panniers, huggers, poncy indicators and stuff don't need to be declared. Damn it try to play by their rules and they still stiff you..... ,,,,, can't wait for the FZ1, 150bhp, EXUP, very excitificated n…

Hi there, I am trying to find a suitable aftermarket can for my FZ1. I've never had one before and apart from the choice out there I've come across an obstacle that even some of the dealers can't advise me on. The standard exhaust and can as you will know is also a cat. convertor and has a lambda sensor attached to it. My dealer has advised that the sensor should be retained, even with an aftermarket can. Here lies the problem. I am looking for a small carbon or stainless can together with a connecting tail pipe. Can anyone please give me advice re. the lambda sensor and suggest which makes of can might come complete with a fitment suitable to attach it to? Thanks, K…

Hi Everyone, I fitted an Ivan's FCE (fuel cut eliminator) to my FZ1 this weekend and the difference is staggering! Absolutely no throttle snatch at any revs / throttle combination. It has totally transformed the bike, so smooth! it was £150 all together from SG Motorsport who are really helpful and it's not too difficult to fit if you have some mechanical / electrical knowledge. Can't recommend it enough.

Hi all, as stated I am new to this site and new to owning a Yamaha, had an RD400 way back when and it was great. OK, I have just bought an FZ1 N, can anyone please tell me if there are any simple mods that can be made to run better and also any trick bits to buy, have just got an evotech tail tidy but am looking for anything else that can enhance the bike, screen, seat cowl, belly pan, mirrors, seat cowl etc.... All advice greatly received. Cheers Zebo

Hi there everyone. Just a quick question. Does anyone know if it is possible to put a FZ600 back wheel into a FZ400 swing arm? Nice bike but the back wheel lets it down. Its way too skinny. LOL Any feedback appreciated Phil
