Hi Guys, Just wondering if anyone keeps an ICE ( Incase of Emergency ) number stored in there phone, or a tag or something in there pocked with next of kin details ect. stopped for fuel today and got speaking to another biker, he was wearing a High Vis vest over his leathers with his name on the back of it, and the words " ICE Details Located on Right Pocket Zip" and he had like a security pass/id holder on his jacked pocket and a card with all his details and stuff on it. Seems like a good idea, and i do usually wear my high vis when riding at night and for long distances in "normal" scottish weather - rain, snow, fog, low cloud haha. Whats everyones thoughts…

I have just bought a Yamaha XT 125 X and while I love it, I now want a two stroke sports bike. I want a two stroke simply because they are a lot faster. Before I bought my XT I wanted an Aprilia RS but couldn't find one local to me, so settled for my XT. I am looking to spend about £1000 - £1500, I was looking at TZR's which I must admit look the business. What would you suggest?

Hi everyone, i have a bit of a strange request for you today... does anyone have a sidecar outfit i could borrow for a day or two? i am just out of my 2 year 33bhp restriction period so it doesnt matter exactly what it is... reason being future Mrs Foamy wants to go to her prom on the back of one of my bikes but that just isn't practical when wearing a dress (so she tells me, i dont tend to wear dresses...), so if anyone has a jawa/ural/mz/whatever else with a sidecar that they would lend me the use of for a couple of days i would be forever gratefull, payment would be provided ofc. please let me know peeps, i will be your tame foamy Love foameh x

I took my bike in for a chain and sprocket set change but when i went to pick the bike up it would not start! i left it with the garage and they said the CDI unit and generator etc was not giving any output, thus leaving me no choice but for them to send away the units for repair (something about re-wiring the generator/coil?) they said this happens on these machines ie: the units can just fail. It will be costing me £175 to get repaired has anyone else suffered from this on these bikes? Also i had done the "re-wire" from the speedometer to de-restrict it would that have caused the trouble? Any ideas/infomation would be much appreciated thank you

Right so I'm going to be building DTR engines for my 2 DTR projects. What I'm trying to find out is about cylinder heads and squish bands. There are various different cylinder heads and in the detonation area is where they vary. Some are smooth and some have a band which i presume is a squish band? Does this then mean that heads with that squish band are going to produce better power? Some people seem to think it should be smooth? I'm confused! Any help would be good!

Riding home from work today behind some chump on a BMW who : 1. Didn't acknowledge a single driver for pulling in to let him past - and there were a few and 2. When I happened to end up sitting on his wing at the next set of traffic lights - I looked over to give a wee nod - ignorant git didn't even turn his head :madflame: What is up with some bikers ???? I know we can all have a bad day and would gladly kick everything in sight while on 2 wheels but I've passed so many bikers recently who are either legally blind and don't see me or must suspect I've killed their dog & slept with their wife - or is itt the other way round? Rant over ! Som…

Good afternoon friends, Quick question, I was thinking of getting one of the Airhawk seat things, the Cruiser R. Has anyone ever seen these or indeed had a ride whilst using one? They are a bit pricey, so would appreciate some thoughts before I shed the bucks... This is the one I was thinking about: http://www.bykebitz.co.uk/acatalog/Airhawk_Cruiser_R.html Cheers, Andrew.

hi i have a yamaha dtr 125 i'm not sure on year i think its a pre-89 as it only has a 3md code and its been converted to a field bike and its been running fine until about 2 weeks ago when i was out on it and nearly had it flat out and after that cruising about the field then when i stopped and switched off the engine it was sitting for around 2 minutes then there was a loud pop and i saw the coolant from the overflow tank pouring down the side an the cap had blew off so i put it back on then was back on it, running fine until i put the engine off again same thing happened, it continued to do this when i was driving home, it started to do it when the engine was still runn…

  15. Hi all, quite new to the forum, although i have spent a lot of time reading various bike related topics on this forum, its my first time creating a thread so if its all wrong apoligies inadvance & would be grateful if someone could point me in the right direction (iphone seems alot more fiddly to use than a laptop). Now for the problem im having - I have a '91 dtr 125 that smokes like a trooper when cold, i mean thick smoke, when warm the engine is mint, sounds nice, runs nice, fast and no smoke, just when its cold it smokes bad, id say from stone cold it starts 2/3 kicks with choke and throws out thick smoke for around 3 mins max, when i blip the throttle the s…

While I was out yesterday I saw a young lad come off his scooter. Somehow some gravel had got on the road and he slipped on it. It was a busy main road and I was the only one to stop and help him. The lad was fine he just scratched and scuffed his scooter, I can't believe loads of people just drove past and left him.

Hi everyone, My apologies for joining up and not owning a Yamaha, although I have had various mx bikes in the past YZ, KX, CR, Husky CR, KDX, KLR etc... What I am looking for is the owner of B13 GTT to see if they would like to sell their registration, under no circumstances am I wanting their address or contact details unless they say so. I will quite happily pass on mine for them to contact me though. when checked the plate comes back to a 1996 Yamaha 849cc motorcycle in yellow. I am currently restoring a 1988 Renault 5 GT Turbo and the plate would look perfect and go along side my other number plate B13 NWR on my Renault 19 16v cabriolet.. It's just a st…

  20. I purchased a xvs400 2001 model Dragstar 6months ago & love the bike. I went for a 400 instead of a 250 as I am just over 100kilos & wanted to make sure that the bike could handle the highway. Problem but - the bike seems very comfortable sitting at 80km/h but seems to struggle to reach & stay at 100km/h. A friend of mine who only weighs 80kilo & rides a 650 ninja took th Dragstar for a run & also found that it seems to want to sit on 80 rather then 100km/h. Any help is greatly appreciated as this is my first bike after a 20 odd year break..... Thankyou
