Ihave now nearley sorted most of my electrical problems on my fz600,once you start cutting muti elctrical connectors and replacing them with bullet or spade connectors it looks very untidy,i found a small outfit that sells 1 way,2 way 3 way, 4 way, connectors very similar to yamaha connectors they take orders over the phone and you can buy the amount you need they also sell many other types of connectors,if any ones intrested i can give you there number or web address they were nice people and repair motorcycle electrics so they understand what your after.

OK folks; I've enrolled on an evening motorcycle maintenance course in order to exorcise my mechanical klutz demons. We start getting our hands dirty as of tonight. Coincidentally, I saw a 1981 RD250LC up for sale this weekend. It's an ex-proddie racer being sold as a runner in need of work. The shop owner said that he is assured that it runs and he's turned it over but not fired it up. bodywork is good and the bike looks OK on first cursory glance. I know that the exhausts have been opened up and gutted but not of anything else that's been done to it as yet. I was wondering whether it would be a relatively easy project and whether it would be worth starting on. I d…

Well guys just thought I'd let you know that my R6 dream ended on Thursday around 13.30. I turned into a side road from the main I'd just been on, went passed a van (which I thought was parked up) that then moved out and side swept me into a parked car the other side of that road. Bike looks like it will be written off but don't know yet as I was carted of in the back of an ambulance. I don't know what hurts more my injuries which aren't that bad to be honest or the void in my life where my bike was. Regards

Hi, Just wondering if it is possible to have the engine block refurbished? The previous owner obviously didnt wash down after a ride on the salty roads and now the surface is pitted and looks quite rough. I could try doing it myself I suppose by taking the downpipes / radiator off but just wondered if there are people out there who could do this? Bike is an 04 FZ6 by the way Also is there any quick way of removing the downpipes? the stud nuts are very badly corroded and I expect they will snap when I try to loosen them. many thanks

Hi, wondering if anyone can please help me. My Yamaha XJ900F (1992) slipped from my grip the other day and rolled onto its right side, cracking the crankshaft end cover into three, emptying all the engine oil. Needless to say I wasn't too happy. I'm trying to hunt down a replacement part, and so far have only found what I need in Holland - which will cost be rather costly to post. Does anyone know of a supplier that might make these? I usually find what I need at WeMoto but not this time it seems. Any tips would be much appreciated.

I am planning to put a different engine in another frame. Is this just a straight forward logbook change ? The engine is a different one to the one that was originally used in the frame but it is still a Yamaha engine Yamaha frame configuration. Has anyone had any dealings of this sort of things before ? I know all the dodges to get a Triton registered but have never done this type of thing before so any info would be helpfull. Thanks in advance.

  20. Hi peeps the title explains the thread, seeing as how engine layout seems to give the biggest difference in power/torque and general riding style, if you could have only one bike what layout would you want it to have?
