Hey there everyone. I have just purchased another FZ400 (well i'm hoping thats what it is) The problem that I have is the log book I was given for the bike does not state what model it is. It states that it was imported in 1994. It also shows that is a 1985 model. The only thing that it says about the bike is that it is yamaha 400cc bike. Why doesn't it show what model it is? I'm curious to know whether it IS an FZ or an FZR? Any help much appreciated Phil 4 wheels moves your body - 2 wheels moves your soul !

Took the FZ to the dyno today to see if any mods i have done were any good. best run was 60.09hp which is 5hp over stock. Without changing the carbs thats as much as the racers get, so i'm well chuffed interesting that the operator said I could go down a jet size or try and weaken the lower end. the bottom graph is the fuelling and the median line is what we're aiming for. theres a couple of flat lines there where it so rich the dyno can't measure it. I also have a dip in the 5.5k rpm which is about 10 hp worth there. which is where it is rich. the rev counter reads 500 rpm under but as the main gains are around 9 - 9.5 I suppose its not much poin…

Has anyone else tried to buy a "headlight lens cover" from a git selling them on E-bay??? I saw a "Thundercat headlight cover-any colour...with all fittings" advertised for "buy it now" £18.99. As my 'cat has orange in its colour scheme, and I've just fitted an amber double bubble, I ordered an amber headlight cover. BUT...when it came, the fixing pads are WHITE, and as you can obviously see them through the ( again obviously ) transparent lens cover it looks shocking. I've been doing a consistant 350-400 miles a WEEK for the past coupla months..... Finally got a chance to get some pics of the Tumalo Reservoir whilst out on an Early morning spin this last Monday...... This place is so quiet.....especially when it's only 5 or 6 miles away from my office ..... Hey everyone I have a question for the people in the know. I'm confused with the tail light arrangement on the early r6, some have a big ugly single tail light and some have the twin round rear lights that look alot better. It seems to me like it's a mixture of years because I've noticed some bikes have the twin rear light and then newer ones have the big ugly thing and visa versa. My question is, is the twin rear an upgrade or is it of a certain year bike and fits on the earlier bike? My budget is a little tight and I'm only finding bikes in my price range with the ugly rear light but I want the twin lights, so can I source the rear fairing and lights…

No sooner had I decided I need a rack for the little DT than theres one on ebay, a NOS tower rack that must be at least 25 years old and still has the label and fitting instructions.
