As some of you will know, I've been shopping around for a 125, placing the Dragstar as my main priority. However, I found a 58 reg honda shadow and told my dad and we've got a pleasing deal and I'm picking it up on Saturday ^^ lol. This means I'll have had (and at one point will have) Two bikes which are not Yamahas and have never actually owned a Yamaha. I hope this isnt grounds to kick me out of the club lol I really like it here, i'm just missing that important aspect: Owning a Yamaha. Please don't hate me ^^ Ed.

Just been over to my neares Yamaha dealers to take a look at the new XVS950A Midnight Star. I have to say it is absolutely GORGEOUS. Its light, comfortable and i do beleive Yamaha may have got it right this time. Looks wise, its sleek and sexy, the matt black compliments the chrome and tones it down a tad which i think looks so much better than the gloss black frame of the 650. The only thing im not keen on it the fact that the brake fluid reservoir is right on the front, but i can live with that. So - am now negotiating with the dealer for one of these babies - fingers crossed for monday!

I've been thinking this over for a while now, I have a Fazer 600, 2005 that I (just about) swapped last year for a Varadero 125 that my missus had. I've ridden it a few times but It's just to, erm, how do I put it, Fizzy! I just don't like the way you have to wind it up to make it go, I like to be able to pull away with low revs and push the bike on. Don't get me wrong, this is a great bike for someone just past their test (or who've never had a big bike with loads of torque) - it's just not for me. So, I've been looking at what I can get to replace it. I need something that me and the misus can ride in comfort (the rear seat on the Tenere is just too high for her to g…

Just had a laugh with Bennetts (it's all about the bike!) Insurance whilst trying to insure and old V75a. I know not very glamorous but thought it would be easy to insure as they are a "bike" specialist, but how wrong was I! They have earlier and later models but not mine, guy went off to the underwriters for a couple of minutes and came back and asked if it was blue or red? It's neither, it's orange (very 70's) and ok well we can't insure it. Granted, orange is not the best colour but surely that's colourist? There should be a law against that?!! Does anybody know a bike friendly insurer out there? Ally ps bet the dutch will be piss…

Hi folks! Great to find a forum with people that share the interest for Yamaha MC's. After years with XL600R and later Elefant 750 - I was looking for something more "urban" and reliable to commuter to work in the city. I fell in love with the Yamaha MT-03, but was uncertain of it because I'm rather tall (1,90 cm). Going to the local Yamaha dealer to test-sit one, it felt surprisingly OK. After a good offer from the delaer I bought a new bronze MT-03 with Leo Vince exhaust ("low-power / 35 bhp instead of "high-power" / 45 bhp, because of local taxes, and because I have been told that it's easy to adjust it). Haven't yet got it, because it's still plenty o…

G'day good people of the Yamaha forum I was just wondering what is the correct tyre pressure for my XJ900, I've been riding for many years but untill NOW I have never really needed to check the pressure due to never needing to check (something wrong there I know) Is there a web site where you can put in bike details and info is available? Please don't flame me for being a bad bad biker, unless the reply comes from Scott (USA) , Andy (Scotland) or KEEF (Aircooled land) Thanks in advance for any replies

Hi there, im quite new to biking and this forum. I passed my CBT a few weeks ago looking to insure myself on a 07 YBR, i am still in the process of looking for sensibly priced insurance! Im now thinking of taking my full test but it has just changed. Does anyone know any details of the new test? Ive had a look at the DSA website and its not all that clear, ive heard that the new restriction will be 44bhp for 4 years and that i wont have to take a theory/hazard test as i already have a full car test under my belt. Is any of that true? Any help much appreciated guys. CJ

For the second time now I've had my tax disc stolen. Is there any traffic cops on this forum that can shed some light where bikers stand legally when riding without a disc. I would have thought that in this day and age with police cars fitted with automatic number plate recognition that can tell if the vehicle is taxed and insured do we really need to display a valid disc which is so prone to theft? The first thief who stole my disc altered the registration number to read his own but left Honda cycle on and put it in his car.
