hi, i have a YBR125 '61' and have bought the official Yamaha LED blinkers - http://www.yamaha-motor.eu/uk/accessories/?productCode=YBR125&redirect=false - installed them as it shows.. indicator with the resistor in parallel with it and they supply 2 10ohm resistors, i have installed front and rears of these and they flash too fast and are illegal at the speed they flash. does anyone know of any ways to sort out the speed of flashing without installing a new relay? i have tried installing more resistors but still doesnt seem to help. the original bulb indicators were 10w/12v and my battery is 12v. any advice will be much appreciated. thanks. Oli.

Hi Guys and Girls, Just a question of curiosity really, and its my first post, I have had a 2006 YBR125 for the last 18 months and i have put 16,000 of its 20,000 miles on it, it has a full service history (just to keep the book up to date really) and i always service the bike myself aswell in between actual services, just for peace of mind and to keep it running as good as the day i borght it, all parts needed are replaced as soon as they need to be and i don't put spending the money on it off when it needs to be spent, all in all it is a very well looked after bike, however i ride it in all weathers including last winter, which as many of you remember in the UK it droped to around -19 degree's. coldest i ever rode it in to work was -17, took the following day off after that lol. this lead's to my question's of how may mile's should i be doing before i replace the wheel bearings? (just had to do the sprocket carrier bearing at around 18,000 mile's) and i think i should be replacing the wheel bearings around now even though they feel fine, (more just for peace of mind again really, would hate for them to lock up at 50mph) and secondly, what is the life expectancy of these bikes? it doesnt owe me a penny yet as i have hardly had to spend a penny on it other than general maintanance, Chains, sprockets ect... Thank's for looking and will look forward to here your reply's Cheers Tris

Hi everyone, i have a ybr125 and quite frankly the headlight is Sh!t, i have upgraded the bulb to a 40/45W halogen whitch made a dramatic differance from the standarrd bulb however for night time B roads its still a little scary. now im not an idiot trying to street fighter a 125 or anything, however.... i have seen the dominator headlights and standard they take 60/65W bulbs added to that obviously there are two of them next to each other.... i also have a 55w bulb but that is blue... so quite hard to make out what different objects are at night when everything is blue, and i cant seem to find any brighter bulbs to fit the standard headlight... so im wanting to know do any of you have any experiance with the dominators? or know of a much brighter buld to fit my standard headlight? hear's a link to the dominators that i am looking at... http://www.demon-twe...nator-headlight i know it would probably look rediculouse on a YBR, however it is purely for practicality as i use it as a work-horse commuter. any feedback on this would be muchly appreciated, thanks Tris

Hi There, I own a 58 reg Yamaha YBR125 - Custom, I baught it from a dealership 2 weeks ago. It is still under its 3 months Take back for repair warrantly but i am to far away to get it to the dealership and get it done. Im currently having a problem with the gearbox where i set off in first as i go up into second giving it a fair push as you have to it will click onto the neutral light and then off as if it was in second, About a second later it will slip itself back down into neutral and i end up giving the engine a fair reving off of it. Also the drop from 2nd to 1st gives out a rather large clunk sometimes, more than it usualy does. I was thinking that perhaps there is a problem with the 2nd gear cog or the gear selector? Any ideas and anyone else who has had that problem to explain it wuld be great help! Thanks Joe.

Hi, hi. So now I've joined the biking community, albeit a little later in life than most as I'm 28, but thought it was about time I joined a forum. Got myself a new YBR Custom back in May, had really wanted an XVS 125 as my first bike, but they are like gold dust! Was with the Mg-Rover.org forums when I had my previous car and it was great a resource and place to chat about people with interests, so I look forward to sharing stories with all you helpful folk. Jon.

Hi all, first time poster here, hoping the good people of the owners club can help me with my problem. I bought my first bike 3 weeks ago. Its an '11 YBR 125. The bike has 200 miles on it I have two questions. Sometimes it is really hard to get the bike into neutral. It either skips neutral and jumps to 2nd or says its in neutral (Light comes on) but jerks forward if I release the clutch. Is this something to worry about? If it is a problem, how do I fix it? Will it go away with more miles? My second question is After I turn the bike off, I hear clicking coming from the engine What is it? Much love to anyone that helps and anyone who tries to help

Hi Guys, I'm new here but have found some really helpful things while I browsed over. I got my YBR last week, no problems, running like a charm. This is my first bike, and only really started riding the day before I got it. (CBT) The only problem I have right now is my headlight. When I got it, it was working, I've not dropped or crashed it but now, it won't work!!! When I turn the ignition on (Key to on position, NOT starting it) the parking light (Small bulb) comes on. When I start the bike (Elec start) the headlight is supposed to come one, but mine isn't! When I flick to high beam, nothing, no light on the dash to notify of it either. I have replaced the bulb, and checked the only fuse I could find (Next to the battery) I have checked what I can of the wiring, and everything looks to be spot on... but what is wrong with it?? Please help if you can, I soil myself when the street lights have gone out. Thanks in advance. Sanial

First just thought I'd say hi since this is my first post. Have been lurking around reading for a while but haven't posted yet, so hi everyone! 27yr old first time biker as of three or four months ago. I've got a YBR 125 custom 2009. Bought it second hand and luckily it did actually run . Everything seemed fine for the first few months. I then had a minor fall in some torrential rain which resulted in some expensive repairs (and lessons very much learnt!) but it's been running fine since. Then last week, it just failed to start... Turning the ignition would give anything between no power at all, to everything coming on (lights, dash, engine warning light turns on then off). But, on occasions where it appears to start, starting the engine with the electric start kills all power instantly. The starter appears to 'click' but power goes dead straight after. Interestingly, pulling the front brake has the same effect, so I imagine its that any drain on the battery (starting engine or turning on brake light) kills it. The dash lights would actually fade on/off sometimes when trying to start or wiggling the steering which makes me suspicious its a dodgy wore somewhere. If the neutral light does come on, it will start fine with the kickstart (luckily, since I had to drive it 4 miles home after the first time it stopped). The battery is theoretically 2 years old, though who knows in reality. I've got a haynes manual so have done a bit of testing following that: voltage across the battery seems fine (a little over 13v). battery doesn't look damaged. cleaned of a little bit of corrosion on the positive terminal. took the front light off and tested voltage to the ignition via starter motor which seems fine. tested continuity through ignition switch, no resistance. checked continuity in battery neg to earth/frame wire and that seems good. Any tips on what to do/check next greatly appreciated! I can't find any info on actually checking current from the battery. Im no mechanic or electrician, but I imagine it can hold charge and still not be supplying sufficient current... I think I ought to just get the battery properly tested (and maybe replaced)... any recommendations where to do this (cheaply!) in London, UK? Cheers in advance, I'm itching to get back on the road!
