Hi All. New to to the forum so thought id post up my first thread. Have just picked up a 1997 Virago XV125 (pictured below) this is my first bike. Its been off the road in storage for around 3 years, hence it has a low milage of 3700miles on the clock. Its in overall good condition and just needs a bit of TLC. Prior to me collecing the bike im lead to beleive its had new plugs and the fuel swapped out. Ive heard it running and its appears to run fine. Am hoping to use this to get some experience on it prior to going in for my test. Im fairly handy with spanners so if it neds any work doing im pretty happy to look at most things. Chain looks a little rust covered so will look at serving the bike as soon as possible. Plan to look at Oil & Filter Change, Air filter, Fuel System Flush-out, Brake check + overhaul if req. Would it be recomeded to get a new chain and sprockets ??. Feel free to throw in any free advice. Thanks, Greg.

Hi all, I hope someone could help me, i put some fuel in from a superstore garage (Tesco) it was supposed to be suitable for all petrol engines (it was super unleaded BP stuff). The results were fantastic..... From standing very poor power a push off with a foot helped, once on the move up to quarter turn on the throttle gave me some power anything over that the engine would loose power and strain. So i drained the tank, and flushed the carb through with normal unleaded and refilled the tank with normal unleaded did an oil change (oil was thick black no metal filings). This resulted with power to pull away but still power loss when over half throttle turn. It sounds like as if changing gear half way through acceleration. things i have done... Replaced Spark plugs, checked chain tension, checked Brake free movement front and rear, cleaned air filter, checked oil filter, adjusted idle screw (made no difference) checked throttle cable movement. Is their something i have missed or a solution to this. thanks Bryan

Hi guys, Since I have seen most of the guys here converting their bikes into bobbers..I wanna know if you have ever used fiberglass parts on your bikes...I recently saw some cool japanese modified bikes exactly like harleys...they had metal plates chrome finishes and excellent paint job..I wanna convert my thing into something cool...I went through lot of web tutorials on fiberglassing...am pretty sure that there might be guys here with fiberglass experience...please share ur know-how with me. Fiberglass chemicals are hazardous as I gather...please make a writeup on all the important stuff regarding the subject..will be helpful for all..thanks in advance...
