3rd gear and open throttle and your see the front go sky-ward and you wont get a fj1200 but the handle would be out of this word and the ride position would take a bit getting used to on a long trip...........

Well i was goner say clutch as i was reading it because you had lost drive but if its put its oil all out of engine i'd be saying there's a hole in the caseing or on those lines. Hard to say until you look!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  20. sheeny7 replied to roa1d's post in a topic in Yamaha Workshop
depends how bit you go on back to if you need to lenghten the chain.. but to get alot of bottom end your prob need at least 3 teeth more or you could get a smaller front! but a rule 1 tooth smaller on front is bout 3 bigger on back...

Exup value seizing up for one as well.keep a eye on the oil level as yours has done a few miles.about 1000 miles to every litre aint unknown or if it gets a trash like mine 600 miles to a litre but engine for it over winter.

Hi all, Right i'm thinking off some engine mods over winter now i'm running a full system no exup on it with a k&n and set up on dyno running about 115bhp.need some tips on some cheap way of getting more power???Any thoughts?? Heard of putting thunderace top end on or what about fzr 1000 top end???Any one tried this or done some think similar. Also the famous oil burning now using about 1litre every 1000miles ish depends on how hard the ride was out. Whats the best part to renew as don't start doing rings and its usually the valve guides for example.. thanks for any help dave....

does aound like the side stand and if i was you i'd get a wiring diagram and check it out cause maybe looping the wire not how the switch works if that makes any sense.... wiring diagram the way to go first!!!
  24. sheeny7 replied to SHAAGAR's post in a topic in Yamaha Workshop
I would check from basics onwards even down to valve clearances!! could even be a coil or lead.. One thing i did find when workin on mine is if you look at a workshop manual and look where the main air jet and pilot air goes its the oppisite way round done ask why cause its made some headaces with me and some yamaha techicians i know.. One thing i'd say as well and i dont mean to tell you how to suck eggs is get the carbs set up on sum good dyno and carb balances one main prob i had with mine was cheap ones dave
  25. sheeny7 replied to SHAAGAR's post in a topic in Yamaha Workshop
hi ya,couple of things you can try mate for one get the choke sorted that won't help and have you had the carbs balanced lately because that would cause it to run rough on tick over!! mine runs really rick as well but i have a full system on it and have no exup valve!! cheers
