  1. Hi, thanks for getting back to me. Sorry if this is a dumb question, but what exactly would i be checking on each of these? I'm fine when it comes to car engines, but variator rollers and drive belts etc are alien concepts to me!
  2. Hi, all - first post! I'm hoping that someone can help with this, as its a case of fix or scrap I've been left a Yamaha WHY 50 (YH50? Something like that anyways...) by my uncle when he died, and after riding it a few times, it seems to be woefully lacking in any power when pulling away from a dead stop. I almost got hit by a bus yesterday because it just plain stopped while pulling (up a 1/6-ish gradient) onto a roundabout... The engine doesn't actually cut out or anything - it sits happily revving away, but you seem to have to help the scooter get over its own inetia Fred-Flintstone-style before the engine will take over. Its a little flying machine when it gets going, but that lack of power is a definately disturbing. I've asked a few of his friends, and aparrently he had read about a modification you could do to the engine where by you would cut something shorter, and gain extra power... unfortunately he cut the wrong thing! I hate not being able to be more specific, but nobody has any more info, and its not as if i can ask him... Does anyone have any ideas where i could start looking, or maybe even have heard of the mod that he did? Any ideas would be appreciated Martin.
