Yamaha DT oil spitting out the exhaust!! Please help!
Airhead replied to DANYAM's topic in Yamaha Workshop
DTR's tend to do this to some degree, have you had the bike long enough to say this is unusual for your bike? -
theres probably a filter gauze integral to the float needle valve...It gets clogged!
-

Unsolder the nipple, remove the inner from the outer sheath and cut the required amount off the sheath, then re fit the end ferrule and re-solder the nipple back on. -

why does my 1975 yamaha ag 175 cylinder have a small hole in it
Airhead replied to s900t8v's topic in Yamaha Workshop
It's to make getting the piston in starting position easier...dab on the kicker to get the piston to TDC the gas bleeds into the port to make this easier...then when it's at TDC its ready for a kickstart ' RD400 also have this feature, doesnt drop performance when it's running so's you'd notice -
well they havent made them now for a few years, if you like the 'off road, trail bike style' look at whatever 125cc bikes like This

DT125 will be a great place to start

yep, why is the inlet valve not sealing...burned...bent...sticking...broken spring???? -
you gotta be joking, way too powerful for a 1st bike
-
y'know now you've dropped the yokes down the fork...now isnt there a danger that if you hit a pot-hole the fork seals will collide with the underside of the bottom yoke? to check this, undo the fork caps to take out the spring tension then you can check the travel easily
-
One thing about it though...when you do finally get your own wheels you'll no doubt appreciate it more and take good care of your bike, that's often the way it works
-
yeah I had the same problem when I was a kid, I never had a forum to ask help on either! Cant you be a bit 'covert' like have a share of one but keep it at one of your friends house ?
-
yeah NEO It's because you use yours in all weathers, aint no paint gonna stand up to all that cold water being thrown at it when It's at a high temperature itself, even the original paint didnt last very long at all. It's about all you can do is to keep on top of it.

andrew did you use hammerite BBQ paint? I use plasti cote BBQ paint from B&Q or Wilkinsons, needs curing first though I leave it on the works boiler for a week
