I have no experience of this bike but from what i understand you said is that only one carb is overflowing, are they overflow pipes in which case the dont connect to anything at the other end?

Its a four cylinder isnt it? How many carbs are overflowing, surely not all of them at once?

Hi Alan, assuming its a mikuni VM carburettor, im thinking the pilot jet bypass hole is blocked (If it has one) its a small hole in the bottom of the venturi, allows fuel through the pilot jet to exit behind the throttle slide when shut, also worth a look at the air jet. A rough guide to this working or not is to adjust the mixture screw, it should have a noticeable affect on engine speed at tickover, if blocked you will see no affect.

I dont get it either, its a rwo stroke motor, the warning lamp on these is usually to say put some two stroke oil in the oil tank behind the side panel. I didnt know they had a light to say put oil in the engine! seems a bit daft to me as its only there to lube the gearbox and doesnt actually get used up, Unlike the two stroke oil which does get used up. I suggest you read your owners manual.

Dont rightly know myself either but i would think that if in uk then unless you pass your test you cannot de restrict it because learners have to be on 12 BHP (Or whatever) and if in Portugal i dont know it depends what learners use there...dont know...Not my strong point, Goff's good with learner issues i think

Will it tick over on starter jet, like peatandyman said, If it will then it looks like a blocked pilot jet in the carb.

Would i be right in thinking it starts ok on starter jet or choke ? (whichever is fitted) and then dies when you turn that off unless you keep the revs up?

Hi mop head, not familiar with your specific bike, but is that light telling you to put some two stroke oil in the tank, ...I think so. And if you have been topping up the gearbox oil make sure it is only half way in the window or it will be over full!!
  13. Airhead replied to rjk's post in a topic in Dual Sport, Offroad Bikes

Some you can and some you can't have a look at the stator plate mountings see if the holes are slotted.

Caustic is a very good way to clean carbon yes, only use it on steel exhausts, not on anything aluminium. Wear gloves and goggles too because you will get serious burns if you get any on you.

Soldering floats up can sometimes add weight and therefore affect buoyancy of the float this then leads to higher fuel level in the bowl.is the problem only on the cylinder with the repaired carb?
  20. Airhead replied to tony_dtr's post in a topic in The Bar
Yes you can, ask them to fit it if you dont know what youre doing.
  21. Airhead replied to tony_dtr's post in a topic in The Bar
What size jet is standard and what size did DEP say to increase to?
  22. Airhead replied to tony_dtr's post in a topic in The Bar
You may need to jet up, what does DEP recommend for your bike? You are risking serious damage if it needs jetting up so you should stop using it until you find out and do it.
  23. Alex, thats coz the knowlegeable people havent had YBR125's!! Does it have a power valve, that would do it, also my Bandit does it but its summat to do with the speedo and rev counter, they do a dance when you turn the key on, dont know why but you can hear that too, only it doesnt annoy me like yours does you
