  1. I guess you would have to jet larger, if it were me I would try a couple of sizes bigger at first and continue to plug chop. jets are way cheaper than pistons and much easier to replace.
  2. 2 teeth bigger will take top speed from 65 to 73.5 mph
  3. Yep, light at the end of the tunnel now, frame looks good, a rub down prime and PJ1 frame paint or what? makes a refreshing change to the usual route of powder coating anyway Youre doing the forks now, the sliders do look good painted too, I did mine, covers up the corrosion that they almost inevitably have, quick and cheap too.
  4. Most likely culprit is the reg / rectifier unit, have you still got the spare one to substitute? there are checks you can do with these if you have a multimeter though...do a search. ...Paul
  5. Hi Phil, standard front for a 175 is 15 teeth, strangely enough standard for a 125 is 16 teeth so that is higher geared. However you can get standard +1 or +2 (for higher gearing), and aso -1 or -2 (for lower gearing) from wemoto for example, the only problem is the postal strike! Wemoto DT175MX Parts
  6. Sorry shakey, missed your post and sure didnt see any blokes in pink leathers, still...had a good time anyhow ...Paul
  7. ok, me and blackhat met up as planned, great to finally meet you John. Had a good day out and drooled over some stunning bikes 'like you do', here's a pic of us sampling the free hospitality at the Jawa owners club stand where the 'wags' were in national costumes. Well that's about it for this year as far as shows go! roll on summer.
  8. But rich running would give black smoke not blue (and rough running), burnt oil gives blue, either from piston / bore wear or valve seals wear.
  9. Hi, some of the riders at my local TRF (Trail riders Fellowship) group use them I think, why not send them an email and ask there [email protected] ...Paul
  10. The large screw is the 'throttle stop, or tickover. or idle adjuster' screw. The small one is the mixture screw and should lie around 1.5 turns out from gently closed. Normally you would expect the following 1: mixture screw too rar clockwise = lumpy idle.(Rich) 2: mixture screw too far anti-clockwise = too fast idle.(Lean) manuals are readily available on ebay (in uk anyhow)
  11. Hard to find but weve had this before, your email? I will send you one
  12. But theres a set of Jog forks on ebay right now, £49 posted...Here It all depends on how much work you want to put in or if youre up to the job, the trouble is factory trained mech are £££'s per hour, did you check round your local smaller bike shops, or can you strip and check the forks yourself, you will need to be pretty competant though, dont attempt it otherwise but you could save money. Having said all this it IS your mates responsibility so dont let him take the piss eh!
  13. Sounds like the starter relay/solenoid to me, as a way of eliminating it try bridging it with a jump lead when its mis-behaving. This is of course depends on whether it has two pillars (connections)
  14. ok , its a known problem, weve got some kind of a glitch...I will pass it on to Alex (Alexigno) ...Paul
  15. lol, you need to stop saying........"Like This"
  16. something tells me that souffle is just a pet name for summat
  17. Cant see it being an issue so long as the chain slack is ok, for a few days anyway. After all its a low powered bike innit
  18. NUTS and locked because we got one of those threads.
  19. Here's why Jezza. Registration costs and benefits
