Bloody hell , pictures up before I even got back!! Had a fantastic time at ACRD rally (at MFN) this weekend, made very welcome on my first attendance...great bunch of lads. Some beautiful examples of aircooled RD's and it was great to be amongs them on the old DT, which of course drew a fair bit of attention in its own right. Weather was sunny and hot (a bit sunburned) Sorry you were messed about with work merv it would have been a great chance for you to buy me a pint

HELP! BREAK DOWN!!! XVS 125
no idea Chris, maybe you could get some tomorrow and leave it soaking tomorrow night What...too impatient, well then spray it with easing oil, leave that soaking and keep topping it up. then tomorrow heat it up, take care not to overtighten the vise as i said Tip... When you get a good tight grip with the mole grips I always rock the screw back and forth, on many occasions you will feel it move even if only slightly and then bind again...DO NOT...continue in the same direction when it binds but move the opposite way until it binds the other way etc etc etc etc you will notice that the distance it moves gradually increases, give it a spray now and again good luck and i'm away as from tomorrow so I wont be able to see how you get on until Sunday Cheers...Paul

HELP! BREAK DOWN!!! XVS 125
ok leave it soaking in diesel oil (just the end) overnight. Then heat it around the exhaust adapter flange where the bolt is, If you havent even got a bench with a vise I suggest you take it to a garage or kwik fit centre etc, or engineers local to you and let them do it for you. If you have got a vise then dont overtighten it or you will be in sh1t st if you break it, Mr Yamaha will want lots of you pocket money to replace it.

HELP! BREAK DOWN!!! XVS 125
Chris its about time you sorted a camera, everybody and his dog has a camera, even mobile phones have em. using mole grips may be risky might be better to have a nut welded onto the broken stud, this has the added benefit of heating the thing up as well, mole grips can grind down and chew up the stud especially of the stud isnt the full lenth of the jaws. However you can help this situ if you place something of equal diameter in the opposite end of the jaw, it keeps the jaws parallel. But all this is a guess as i cant see what the problem is....dohhhh!!!!!!!

Am i right in thinking the engine with the sawed bolt is not going back in yet, while you tinker with it and make it better?

RXS100
Hi and welcome stacey Keep an eye on tyre pressures, chain adjustment and two stroke oil level in the tank. This bike is a two stroke unlike the YBR so you will see an oil light (Red) come on when in neutral, this is a bulb check facility and if it does not come on you need a new indicator bulb. If it comes on when in gear there is no need to panic but re-fill as soon as convenient, these bikes are quite fondly regarded and a good one will be surprisingly nippy for such a small engine. ...Paul

Yamaha Dt125r stange oil pump problem
If the pump is moving up / down in a uniform manner then it looks as though the drive is ok doesnt it? so if thats the case the pump may be faulty.

hmmm reed switch for dt 125
Same speed but increasing revs = Clutch slip, you may need a new clutch plate set.

DT125 PV Pulley
yes you need a new on, best keep an eye on ebay unless you buy one at great expense from Yamaha. They do two different ones though, one is the diamond shaped one and the other is a rectangle sort of shape with curved sides (like the shape inside the pulley) I assume you could use either but thats just a guess.

DT125 PV Pulley
Confusing post and title. The diamond shape is on the power valve, it is driven by the pulley, have a look in mt de-restricting thread you will see it there.

Yamaha Dt125r stange oil pump problem
The clear pipe is a good way to go, it should definitely pulse through the pipe at idle although the pump stroke is much reduced . But when held fully open at idle the oil should travel around 6/7mm with each stroke of the pump. Nothing to do with the vacuum, it should do this even with the delivery pipe disconnected from the reed block. By the way...could there be an issue with your reed block oil spigot being blocked? Try disconnecting the delivery to see

Yamaha Dt125r stange oil pump problem
is thethrottle turning the pulley ok? try turning the pulley manually when the engine is idling, this allows the oil pump to maximum stroke and the bike should smoke heavily.

goodbye dear friend
Hmm makes me wonder just what they needed, is there such a thing as a tealeaf badge then, I remember a while back you were after a motorcycle for them too.

loss of spark
what about plug gap and re-making the connection of the HT lead to the plug cap, cut 3/4" (20mm) off it if you can and set the plug gap smaller
