It's usually in the middle, it has a tiny spring loaded plunger that rests on the float arm.

If they are not mixed up, drip some fuel into 'B' abd see if it weeps through 'A' (small hole)
  4. Therein lies the problem, Jams is a chippie. Hey mate, can you build a shelf?

I assume the starter jet may be blocked or possibly you have the float bowls on the wrong carbs? Now this is a hunch as I do not know the LC setup but on my DTMX the starter (choke) sucks extra fuel up from the bottom of the float bowl through a small orifice right at the bottom, it then passes up the 'bore' in the casting to the choke plunger, I think on a twin carb setup there is a pipe connecting the two carbs for the fuel rich mixture to pass across to the cyl without a choke. Perhaps this will explain better, a picture of the workings on my DTMX so if you have the float bowls mixed up...then no fuel can be drawn through A and B ...Paul
  6. Nope, The screws through the carrier (plastic) thence through the steel plate thingamy with innertube sandwich as a protection to the chrome ? I think the topbox clips on somehow??
  7. Should it be fixed with countersunk screws down from the top in the recesses of the plastic carrier?

indeed is it frayed anywhere? or could it be the crankseals sucking air in and racing your motor, I suppose this could be mistaken for a throttle issue. Try spraying WD40 at the generator side seal when it is doing it...does it have an affect?

This is often a sign of sidestand switch disconnection or failure.
  20. Its always good to take the plug out, stick a pencil down the plug hole to touch the piston and turn the engine with the kicker until the piston is at the bottom of its stroke, then leave it overnight with the plug still removed. That way any fuel in the crankcase will evaporate out. try again with a new plug and if you're lucky...

First things first I cant reference your pictures or info with regard to page numbers, obviously we have different manuals mine is ISBN 978 1 84425 626 6 The later models had a completely different carb (mine has one) a flat slide TM type rather than the round slide predecessor, you must have noticed they looked completely different? yet you say it was near identical...thats confusing, I wonder if someone before you changed the carb also. Can you post pics of them both?
