  6. The DTR will have to go A new bike in the stable http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=260818099825&si=sXg1i7yj2ESDUUmwhxDFinFzn%2Fo%3D&print=all&category=9809
  7. Slow fuel supply through your tap...blocked screen either in the tap bowl or within the tank?
  8. Can I suggest you size your pictures to 600 - 900 pixels width if you have the means ..can be done on photobucket but theirs is a bit slow...myself I use paint.net, not essential but they can become tedious waiting to load up in your posts when taken with todays crop of huge megapixel cameras
  9. Pictures are easy when you get the hang of it. See the 'Pinned' topic in New members FAQ's
  10. Nice interesting intro there Scott Hope you make good progress with the parts, a member here had a disc cover in red for a DTR...dunno if its the same? ...Paul
  11. OK Clive you should have a good look at the components or the carb then, make sure they match the spec I listed...everything...including the slide cutaway
  12. do you do CBT on your own bike then, might be tricky with a wide open PV (no bottom end power) . I know were making assumptions here at the moment!
  13. Sorry to hear that Clive
  14. Yours should be 2H500 Clive, if it has a 3U500 fitted that's your problem. You are seriously risking major damage with large throttle openings and only a 90 jet fitted! I would prefer to buy a used carb Mikuni rather than a copy RT?? will be much cheaper too £30 - £40 I would say This is what you need These are the spec's your carb should have Mikuni VM24SS, Number 2H500 Standard Set up with factory porting, standard exhaust and air filter Throttle Slide cutaway, 2.0 Needle, 4j13 Clip position 3 from top Needle Jet, 249 0-2 Main Jet, 130 Pilot Jet, 25 Reed side diameter, 35mm Filter side diameter, 43mm Length, 85mm Float Height, 21mm
  15. Greetings Dave
  16. Haha
  17. Hi Clive, makes me wonder if you have a carb from a later bike marked 3U500 fitted to an early bike with access to the air filter on the right of the bike ??? That would do it! People advetise carbs on ebay ***DT175MX CARB*** what they often fail to say, probably because they dont know...is the id number on the carb. The two carbs are jetted differently and more importantly have different throttle slides. This was because of a revised air filter box on the later bikes, notably the ones with a square sect swing arm.
  18. Greetings Dean yeah looks nice but like NEV says...it sounds like it hasnt got a working PV. Can you hear a noise like zzzt...zzzt...zzzt when you switch the key on again after running the engine? I suspect not
  19. Greetings Pat Maybe it's best posted in the 'Workshop' ?
  20. Greetings barmyphil dont know about huge V twins sorry but nice intro sir ...Paul
  21. Good for you James
  22. Not saying its right merv but this could have been adjusted out...no?...using the pressure plate adjuster? same thing goes for yours James, if the new plates are not as thick then it will all 'bottom out' on the previous adjustment setting. Theres more than just the cable adjustment on a clutch...least thats my experience of em
  23. lots of people bleed brakes by the wrong method...are you one of those
  24. is it bike oil James...not general car oil?
