  1. good for you Ady, it's a completely different experience...less frantic eh Greetings
  2. Engines that have stood a long time and have failed to start after many attempts may just be low on compression because all the oil has washed from the bores and piston rings. Give the compression a helping hand by taking the sparkplugs out and dropping a little oil into each cylinder.
  3. I'll take fading out in a hospital after raising a family, hopefully see them flourish, maybe grandkids if I'm lucky and many great times with my friends and family R.I.P Malachi Mitchell-Thomas , died doing what he loved but missed so much more

    Tank lining

Hows this for tank lining ?
  6. are the clutch plates stuck together, is it simply stalling because the clutch wont disengage? can you push the bike when it's in gear and the clutch is disengaged,? ... if you cant the plates are stuck together there, lots of help and and no intro you're doing well
  7. Great news Jimmy, I hope he soon has your training under control
  8. I had the same problem with my TT600RE, so I fitted one of these, it looks better than the original anyway http://www.motoblouz.co.uk/headlight-plate-acerbis-dhh-certified-53344-v.html?sku_id=204337&gclid=COK_2ved0MwCFUko0woddXIAww not so good on unlit roads though but that doesn't bother me
  9. Milan you should use the forum 'Search' facility There are other threads about this problem, just typre in 'TZR50 speedo' into the search box
  10. if the hose is the overflow then you need to check the float valve, it must be passing fuel when it should be closed, inspect it and clean it if it's dirty or replace it if it's worn/damaged don't know what picture 2 is I wouldn't do anything with that!
  11. paraffin and a paintbrush
  12. Fantastic, what a great day out

    I need help

on these old bikes you can read the key number at the face of the lock...yeah really so get the number and look on ebay? http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p3984.m570.l1313.TR11.TRC1.A0.H0.Xyamaha+keys.TRS0&_nkw=yamaha+keys&_sacat=0
  14. turn the idling adjuster screw clockwise to get it to idle in neutral, cant see any useful info in the manual other than float height as mentioned earlier
  15. yeah I need another one of those, mine broke last year...mostly OK but they steam up very badly in wet weather, not that we actually ride in wet weather though!
  16. sounds like it could be an overflow pipe, this shouldn't have a screw in it because by doing that a vacuum will develop in the floatbowl and cause fuel starvation is the overflow pipe blocked with a screw???
  17. there is very little information in the manual, yes now you've told us that it does sound like fuel starvation. Check inside the carb, is there a filter sctreen in the inlet side of the float valve...I've seen carbs that do have this on board filter before
  18. Old enough to know better, young enough to do it anyway
  19. try it without the air filter just to see if it makes any difference? I asked you earlier...is there a good flow of fuel to the carb???
  20. Welcome back crash doll...good moniker under the circumstances
  21. 13-14mm not 17cm It's in the manual...have you got one?
