  1. perhaps the fuel supply is slow due to a blocked filter gauze in the fuel cock? take off the fuel pipe and check for a good strong fast flow...not a dribble
  2. yes it'll work just fine but should have the early mk1 rotor as i said

I never said i was out...do i continually have to re-affirm that i want one foamy? last i heard alex was gonna get me one
  4. Greetings MAO...better ask mr yamaha that one
  5. can worn emulsion tubes do this? It's quite an old bike...how many miles?
  6. Greetings Peter and welcome back ...take care out there
  7. thats your problem then, get a rubber joint fitted, easily bought from fleabay
  8. is the rubber joint between the exhaust and silencer leaking?
  9. dont hold your breath shergar, the op hasnt been back since posting this!
  10. how come you changed the main jets for smaller ones without knowing the correct size then?
  11. no need to worry Jason but this 1981 bike would have left the factory with a mk2 ignition system...6 wire CDI and no source coil 2 in the magneto but you might check the number on the magneto rotor is the correct one for the mk1 version, it should be Mitsubishi F3T250, it has two slots in the face of the flywheel
  12. yes thats right I'm surprised though that your bike has a 7 wire CDI and a source coil 2! do your engine and frame numbers match?
  13. its for source coil 2 aka high speed coil
  14. might have a job on your hands getting parts for that Pat but you never know with 'the luck of the irish' eh?

Superb Richard its looks a heck of a lot better now, Thanks for the video...killer
  17. have you considere fitting 21" road tyres eddie? Avon Distanzia for example
  18. hmm never hear of a plasic one, usually the floats are plastic and they are connected to a brass structure, i cant advise you to bend a plastic one either
  19. you adjust the float height by bending the tang slightly...the bit thet presses on the float valve. while the float is out give it a shake to make sure there is no fuel in any of the floats
  20. dont blame you at all, an looked after it will go up in value, not down like your XT will!
  21. Greetings delio, thats quite a creation...the exhaust looks huge! is it quick?
  22. far too many miles for my liking, i'd be thinking worn valve guides/seals pistons/bores/rings carb emulsion tubes etc etc etc
  23. Nice bike jamie, be good to get her reliable eh?
  24. a bit of a tip jamie the fuel tap often has a bowl that unscrews, the tap material is a zinc alloy which is pretty soft and easily damaged! If your bowl has a 10mm hexagon at the bottom to unscrew it with...***use a 6 sided socket*** not an open ended spanner or a ring spanner, I have rounded these things off on the past so I speak from experience!
